Community power

Hi beer/barcampers,

I've had a talk with some of the great folks at last Beercamp and presented an idea. It's kind of a "community kick-start", where in cases where your project, whether for personal gains, for a job, or for a good cause, you need a few people to get the ball rolling in terms of community involvement.

Sometimes this is just a simple retweet or like. Other times it could involve more participation, such as sharing on your social networks (preferably in your own words) or commenting, etc.

Let me give you an easy real life example. For facebook pages to claim the username for your domain you need at least 25 members on it. This particular example is my website's facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/RalphvandenBergcom/139961012733013 but this is not a very market-friendly URL. I just need a few more good hearted people to get over there and click "like". It's that simple, and as this is a real life example, all "likes" will be highly appreciated!

Something along these lines already exists as a real business (subvertandprofit.com, if they still exist, you can buy "likes" and "diggs" etc), but I was hoping to just call on the power of this community of people who may have very similar needs as me.

Any reactions and further discussion is welcome and encouraged.

by the way, I don't know if I sufficiently thanked Ralph for his contribution to the last barcamp, but he got us a 30% discount on the belgian beers, which is a substantial contribution,
