Today, we held a meeting to begin planning for BarCamp Canberra 2.

Attended by Steve Collins, Nat Boehm, Rae Buerckner and Craig Thomler.

We're looking for volunteer unorganisers, speakers, sponsors and
anything else you can think of.

Proposed dates - end February or Early March 2009.

That's all we have at the moment.

As usual, the BarCamp wiki and this group will be the hub for
organising activity. Watch the wiki for more news and make sure you
keep an eye on this list.

Steve,

I wished I'd known about the meeting - I would have discussed the InfoCamp concept that came up after the last BarCamp.

Any reason for the closed session? First I heard about it was seeing an email advising of Nat's Twitter DM. Suggest in future that all last year's disorganisers (at a minimum) be invited to the following year's kickoff meeting - and I would extend this to the mailing list. That's what it's for.

Regardless... what some of us (mainly iacanberra regulars) noticed was that at least half the participants last time were from the IA/Ux community as opposed to the traditional code-y social computing BarCamp demographic... and this led us in turn to think about holding an InfoCamp - either in parallel, or as a separate event at a different stage.

Thoughts? Is everyone familiar enough with the InfoCamp concept to have an opinion?

Best regards, Andrew
