Hi,

Just realised I wasn't getting any emails from this mailing list -
although I thought we were all using GroupHub not Google Groups.
Anyway, good to see there's been more organising.

I need a high res BCC logo. Pls email me.

Thanks,

Nat

Mr Collins, are you able to assist? I can't find my copies of the artwork you produced for last year.

Bah, I won;t be able to attend Bar Camp Canberra this weekend.

Saturday I'm working midnight to midday. And as haven't spent much
time with my partner lately Ill be spending Sunday with her.

Hopefully, next year.

Folks,

I note that a "BarCampCanberra Organiser's Meeting" has been called
for Wednesday and announced on Twitter.

Are you specifically excluding anyone who didn't see the mistaken
CnuTUB announcement? I only saw it by accident. I've been involved in
this project since day one, and if I'm being excluded, I'd like to
know why anyone would think that was possibly OK.

Cheers, Andrew

Hi Andrew,

My sincere apologies. I had not yet gotten around to sending out
personal invitations for Wednesday's meeting to those who assisted
with BarCampCanberra last year.

You are of course invited and welcome to attend the meeting on
Wednesday (for which no venue has yet been set, but it will be
somewhere in Civic).

If two days notice is not sufficient I am happy to move the meeting
back, although I'm not expecting everyone to come - we had limited
success with in-person organisers meetings last year, but I feel some
sort of official kick-off is appropriate.

So far the only people to RSVP besides myself is Ruth and Rohan, so I
had planned a wider distribution of the meeting invitation tomorrow.

Regards,

Nathanael

I could use a little more specifics on the Where. I'm returning from
(yet another) flight to Brisbane, so I'll probably be headed airport
to meeting if all goes well with the skytrains

So where's the physical locale for this one?

Nat,

it's not about two days notice, it's about the perception of exclusion
of people outside the CTUB echo chamber - and there has been far too
much of that lately.

I think I did more than assist, and I think I did more than assist
last year. This is either a community effort or it is a one man show.
Personally, I'd rather it was a community effort. It works better that
way. I don't need a personal invitation - something to this mailing
list would have been just fine.

As to the venue - does it have to be Cream? Quite frankly, the service
sucks there, and I'd rather not lend them my patronage.

Cheers, Andrew

As much as I'd love to get involved this/next year, I am working at
that tim (I shift-work, and the roster for this week and next week
has me working 4 p.m. t midnight Mon-Fir).

A weekend would be better, Sunday lunchtime meeting would be nice.
Gives people a few more days notice too.

And why Cream? I don't feel like they have a very wide choice/range of food.

Andrew,

I'm confused as to why you keep mentioning CTUB. BarCampCanberra has
nothing to do with CTUB. Today's tweet about BarCampCanberra on the
CTUB account was an accident, as mentioned in the following tweet. The
other notifications about Wednesday's meeting prior to today have been
through my account and on the BarCampCanberra Twitter account.

If you have criticisms of how I run CTUB, then please direct them to
me personally or outside this list as it is off topic.

If you have recommendations for alternative venues, I'd be happy to
hear them.

You're right, this is not a one-man show, it always has been and
continues to be a community effort.

Regards,

Nat

Agreed that it has nothing to do with CTUB. My point is that I'd
rather if it could have been kept that way.

My alternative venue suggestion continues to be "anywhere but
Cream". Civic is good, it's 2 minutes drive away, I don't want to
get too precious, just don't want to go to Cream.

Cheers, Andrew

Anestis, Dan or anyone else listening - did you want to recommend
somewhere for a venue? Keep in mind we're probably pushing the meeting
back now to the weekend or into next week.

Thanks,

Nat

Sorry, I'm still fairly new to Canberra (moved here May last year) so
I still don't know all the food places in and around Civic. I know I
wants a place that has a wide variety of meals.

Just to confirm, today's meeting is NOT going ahead. Postponed to
another date, time and venue yet to be set and agreed on.
