to BarCamp Canberra
1. Quote from Stephen Dann's BarCampCanberra follow-up blog post
"Going to BarCamp Canberra was like coming home to old friends I’ve
never met" - use as quote or tagline.
2. Move schedules to more accessible location - problem with position
of schedules due to fact Main Room was never intended to be the
primary presentation room; it was meant to be a break-out area.
3. We need a break-out space and make better use of the strengths of
each room.
4. Tea and coffee - need both; coffee cart? Perhaps offer Purple
Pickle minimum revenue.
5. More pizza - at least 20.
6. Audio recording in every room.
7. Twitter stream was good (except when Twitter was down for an hour
over lunch); perhaps share the responsibility for maintaining the
stream around to make sure all schedule information and all
presentation-related links and other info is posted consistently.
Better advertise the stream.
8. Ensure we have all the presenters' full names and twitter handles
before hand for posting info.
9. Encourage all presenters to post their presentations up on
SlideShare under CC license.
10. Look at live streaming next time. Would have done it this time
except for compatibility problem with video4linux 2 and Flash Player 9
on Linux preventing use of Yahoo! Live with Eee PCs.
11. Presentation format was good and we kept them to the 20 minute
slots - moved along smoothly.
12. Promote next BarCamp (next year?) more - now we have photos,
presentations, podcasts and a swag of blog posts and feedback we can
use to support future promotional communications and material. Push it
to the WSG crowd more. CLUG.
13. Get LA on-board for sponsorship next time. Pascal mentioned some
difficulties with dealing with LA for this time round.
