Cross-platform support is becoming more important in the world of video games. Multiplayer hits like Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 and Fortnite have pushed crossplay into the limelight, and now most AAA multiplayer games release with at least partial cross-platform support. Finding every cross-platform game is no easy feat, though, so we did the hard work to bring you a comprehensive list of games that support crossplay.

Fallout 5 hasn't officially been announced yet but, with renewed interest in the postapocalyptic series thanks to the new Amazon-produced Fallout TV show, we're starting to hear more and more rumors about the new Wasteland adventure.

Hi Folks, looking for an answer to this as well. my buddies play on Xbox and I'd like to be able to host a dedicated server on my new PC. If not I'm buying the MS Store version so please someone say it's actually a thing lol.

Have any you guys tried to make a server and see if it shows up on xbox and if player can join it seem like we dont need to add anything for crossplay but dont have and Xbox Series X to test that theory I have one Running Called

No Running on My Own hardware and that was my other question if Crossplay was a Nitrado thing only but if people can join my own server who are on Xbox then that would tell us if its an Nitrado only feature or Not

For everyone who has XBOX players on his servers, can you provide your start commands?

I just rented a nitrado server to check what they will add for crossplay. Checkout those start parameters:

I did not do anything special; the GameUserSettings.ini and Game.ini files are all default. I can provide them to you, but there is nothing special that I did. From what I know, you do not have to do anything to enable Crossplay; it is enabled by default. However, I am also hosting on my own hardware under Linux. I do not use server providers, as I believe they are all poor value for money. However, if you like, you are welcome to join our server: POK-PVE-Community-ARK-Server-NO-WIPE. We are a friendly community and are happy to help new players get started.

So can anyone share what port forwarding address they are using? I tried following this link -survival-ascended/ but it didnt seem to solve my issue. Steam users out side my network can connect and I can connect from a Xbox on my local network, but Xboxes outside my network cannot connect. So I believe its a port forwarding issue. Can any of you that have gotten it to work share what all you changed to port forwarding?

You must add it at the very end (and yes, I know that seems insane). I originally had it in front of the -NoBattlEye and it failed. Moving it to the end immediately caused my server to be available within the Xbox client (though I had to search for the name and refresh a few times).

I feel like if the game was updated maybe they could add cross-platform. But as far as im aware the game is abandoned on console with the lack of communication on forums and livestreams and the fact console hasn't gotten a update in a min. To be real i feel like console is treated like a cash cow for some company's. Hope humankinds devs won't make the same the civ and ck3 did with there games being broken or behind. Here's to hoping for a good year for humankind on console.

They will likely never add crossplay. As you can tell from all their social media accounts, they do not care about putting effort into the console version. They actively ignore ALL comments about updating the console version of the game to ever be up to date with the PC version.

**Note: with the one exception of the possibility of them changing the Xbox version in fundamental ways that might make it incompatible with the PC version. There could be any number of reasons for such changes but the primary reason driving any such change would potentially be if they needed to adjust something (like mob numbers on screen) in order for it to be playable at a decent framerate on Xbox.

There are multiple games with crossplay right now, and Microsoft has made it clear it is up to the game companies as they will absolutely support it in every way. Playstation is the one that has issues.

I will specify, though, since that is a common concern among players whenever a console port is announced, this does not mean we will make balance/gameplay changes on PC to favor the console version. If there is ever a point where we need to adjust monster spawns or anything like that to improve the console experience, such a change would be done independently of the PC version."

Console games are great for quick uncomplicated play for a short time run around and are really focused on and zero in to the attention span of a child. Grim Dawn is in a different league of complexity and is best left to the power of a PC and real RPG players. It is almost like comparing a Noughts and Crosses game to a Chess Tournament.

Your worries are needless. Rhis has been working on the Xbox port for a while now and you can thank that work. Because of it we had x64 and DX11 support added as well as the Deferred Rendering performance optimizations that have enabled significant improvements in performance as well as much of the controller support improvements for those who prefer using controller.

I am loving Vermintide 2. I just wanted to chime in and say that it seems like a perfect candidate for xbox and PC cross play. I play with a couple friends on PC, but one of my childhood friends plays on Xbox and loves coop games. I would love if the option became available for me to play this game with him.

Xbox account has Live Gold and plays Apex Legends with multiple friends (on Xbox). I disabled all of the child settings on the console and online, and cross-play, adding friends, etc. was already allowed.

We signed out of the child account and signed into an adult xbox account, then successfully added both for crossplay... But this doesn't help because he wants to use his Xbox account he's been using for over a year (level 61).

Have you checked to see if cross-play is enabled under the Xbox Privacy settings for that particular account? In addition to the Child Account Family Settings there's another place where you can enable/disable cross-play as well. To see if it's enabled follow the steps below:

I changed all Xbox family settings to unrestricted/adult, ensured Xbox settings crossplay is enabled and can add friends (he already plays crossplay with PS4 players in other games too...). Then only thing I can find that looks fishy is that the crossplay enable/disable is greyed out.

Hello

We are having a similar issue. Our son plays Apex on his child account and cross plays with other Xbox one friends with no problem ...but he wants to cross-platform play with friends on PS4 and is unable to. His cross-platform 'enable/disable' button is greyed out.

I'm feeling sad and cross because two separate EA advisors on two separate chats ( back on the 7th and 8th of October) told me it was simply a matter of time and because it was in Beta it was being rolled out slowly and he would get the function. Today, after he's waited patiently, another chatbox advisor has said they can't help and referred me to this thread!

Please can anyone help?

Jill

Just to confirm, have you double-checked the Xbox privacy settings on your son's account to make sure that cross-play is enabled there? You can find more info on how to access those settings over at the Microsoft Support website.

Since I heard the 1.4 update was coming out on ps4, I was really exited to play with my girlfriend who only is on ps4. I am on steam on PC. However, now that it's out we haven't been able to because she doesn't show up on my friends list inside of Grounded. I have her added on xbox, I have linked my xbox to my steam, and she has turned on crossplay. All my other xbox friends show up in the list except for her. Is this part of the connectivity issues from the recent update? I'm not sure if I am doing something wrong or it is because of the bug. If anyone knows a potential fix to this issue that would be great, thanks.

Hey EnDespair!

I'm sorry that you and your girlfriend haven't been able to connect to play Grounded. Our team is currently investigating this issue where players aren't seeing each other in the lobby. I recommend starting the game and inviting her to join once it's started as other players have said it is a good workaround.

If that doesn't work, please feel free to submit a support ticket, and we'll investigate it.

Obsidian Support

Thanks, and hopefully that will resolve the issue for now!
