Prayer please for Jon Allen

Gentlemen, I am requesting that you join me in prayer for one of our own—Pastor Jon Allen.  

 

Jon and his family received the news a few days ago that he has stage-4 Squamous Cell cancer—a large tumor in his pelvis.  This is a rare, hard-to-treat cancer.  They are meeting today at 2:00p with a medical team at Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit, and will know more after that consultation.  Jon has a pending full-body scan to see if the cancer has spread anywhere else.  This form of cancer, with aggressive treatment, only has a five-year survival rate of 5% … so apart from a miracle, this isn’t looking good for my friend.  

 

Jon has been the lead pastor of the Community Baptist Church in Garden City, Michigan since the death of his father and founding pastor of the church, Jimmy Allen, died years ago.
