The coffee shop is in the bottom floor of a building that has apartments directly above. A routine problem that they have is that people living in the apartments will wirelessly leech free internet connectivity off of the coffee shop. It can get bad at times...we've seen gaming consoles and machines with Bittorrent clients (just as a couple of examples) running 24/7 and consuming all available bandwidth, slowing down access for paying customers (not to mention for the Square POS iPad!)

wifi code 45

The WiFi system that they have has the ability to either auto-generate a new password at a set interval (so a new one would be created every week, or every 24 hours, or whatever), or even to generate one-off access codes per person. I have seen *other* POS systems that can be integrated with such an access control mechanism, such that a unique access code is generated for every sale and then printed on the receipt. I haven't found a way to perform this kind of integration with Square, which kind of shocks me.

is there no way to boot all people logged on after the 24 hour mark?

Same way you can create a new key at intervals?

I mean you guys could just write it on a receipt and change it the following day, thats what starbucks does at some locations

some coffee places don't really care if you use their free wifi aslong as nothing bad is being downloaded on it such as torrents

OK I have never tried to download a terrorist, but get the point about not having bad things happening. There are programs that you can run as part of your Router Software that manange the users, content and amount of time users can stay online, such as 30-minutes free or daily access. These are generally commercial applications but are not part of a POS system. Somce can give a user free time and has a splash screen if they want to purchase additional access with a credit card.

At my shop we use a passcode for the guest network and post the current password. I set the lease time to 60 minutes which means they have to log in again or it clears their infomration making sure the availale ip addresses are not all tied up.

I have the SAME issue at my cafe in Seattle. I am at the breaking point. At some point I'm just going to pull wifi all together. Currently I am at 1 hour free, 2 hours with code. So I have people coming up all day asking for codes and my Barista's are too busy to know who has already received a code or who has purchased. If I could get a unique printed code on my square receipt it would solve this.

There is a section on the receipt for a custom note, you can find this in settings on your dashboard, that you can put in the password - you just have to remember to change it on there when you change the password

Recently I have been having trouble with my wireless wifi adapter. I have tried reinstalling the driver by uninstalling it and letting my laptop install it automatically. Then manually. I have disabled and re-enabled it. I have changed settings on it which worked for about a day before it kept happening again. Originally it only disabled when I played a game on my laptop but I found it happens on multiple applications and now it does not even function outside of them anymore like it did originally. I am using Windows 10 and have an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10750H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz. I have tried restoring my computer to a previous point but it was not far enough back. I do not know what to do anymore. Can anyone please assist me? My college starts in a week and I need to have it working by then.

I had the same issue recently, and the issue resolved itself; however, today the issue was not resolved. I tried a lot of troubleshooting to fix the issue, and everything I did, even the reinstalling of the windows, was still not working. I hope to hear from you soon.

As I looked for this issue on the net, many people are having it. Yet INTEL does not bother to do anything. It is absolutely not related to any brand of laptop or pc. It is related to INTEL. I tried every and each thing yet, problem is consistent.

I have the same issue with this Wi-Fi adapter on an HP All in One. I have tried everything mentioned, but the problem persists. Sometimes it's error 10, and other times it's error 43. Please, Intel, provide a solution for this problem, which, as documented on the internet, seems to be a common issue across different devices from various brands and while running different applications. Therefore, it seems logical to assume that the problem lies with your adapter. By the way, I already have the driver update installed that was released by you in August of this year 2023.

I have purchased a Garmin Venu watch for the main reason to be able to download music to my watch so I don't have to carry my phone when I go for a run. When trying to download music to my watch, I get the WiFi error connection code 010.

I see on a number of threads that this seems to be a common issue. Has anyone been able to find a solution to this problem? I would be super disappointed if I've gone for the more expensive Garmin product because it stores music to find out that the feature doesn't work.

Hello! Could I have you try a hard reset on the device (Press and hold the top right button till the screen goes blank, ignore anything that pops up. Let it sit off for a full minute and then turn back on the watch) and then try again to download music onto the watch. Have you set up the Wi-Fi in Garmin Express or through the Garmin Connect app?

Hi Isabella. Thank you so much for your response. I set up the WiFi in the Garmin Connect app. I have done as you've suggested & it seems to be working. Fingers crossed it works when I get home & am able to test the music with my blutooth headphones.

I just purchased a TS 3522 and while I was able to easily get my iPhone connected to it my wife's IDENTICAL phone will NOT connect! I have installed the Canon app, scanned the QR code and then selected the Canon WiFi network in settings. Once I do this it then asks for the password for this WiFi network and I have no idea what that is!? Can someone help me out here????????

If you are connecting to the printer via wireless direct, you can get the password from the network settings page of the printer. Please click HERE for the steps and once the page prints, scroll down to row 3-3-4 for the password.

I have a Canon Pixma TS 9020 and we recently changed our router password. When I try to connect the printer to the wifi it doesn't ask for a new password. Instead it immediately tries to connect to the wifi and then fails the login. It says I should check the password, but NEVER lets me actually enter a password. How do I enter the wifi new password into the printer?

If you are having problems with getting a chance to enter your password, it will usually mean the printer is not getting the proper password request from the router. In this situation, you can try unplugging your router from the power for 5 seconds and then plugging it back in. If you still have problems, I would suggest trying to connect using a different setup option.

The QR code available for scanning on the phone is being generated independently by the phone itself. This feature doesn't depend on the Wi-Fi router. Even if the Archer A7 didn't have its own QR code generator (i.e. "Sharing Network" feature) it would still be the same.

So, if your friends leave their smartphones lying around unattended with the screen unlocked, then there is nothing stopping another person to look up the Wi-Fi password (or scan the QR code) and also the MAC address from one of those smartphones.

Are you pretty sure that the sharing feature is phone dependent? I have seen some Youtube videos regarding this matter ....but they are suggesting to use WEP encryption ..then android phones will not display qr-code sharing option...which is sort of patching 1 problem but creating another loophole.

Then I connected my smartphone (Android 13) to the router's Wi-Fi. With screen lock disabled it revealed the Wi-Fi password right away after tapping on "Share" and also showed a QR code (see the screenshots below). With screen lock enabled the phone will actually request the user to authenticate themself before revealing the password and QR code.

And even if some phones don't generate a QR code, the Wi-Fi name and Wi-Fi password is all a person needs to connect to the Wi-Fi. A computer running Windows 10 that is logged in with the administrator account and currently connected to the Wi-Fi network will also reveal the Wi-Fi password with just a few clicks.

I wanted to make a recommendation for a quick method for helping guests get on your WiFi. Guests have really liked that I had this device where they can just tap their phone on the top and instantly be logged into the internet. I also used the process in the following link to create a QR code that guests can scan to instantly connect to the wireless. -tips/how-to-share-home-network-info-with-qr-code/

I think connecting to the WiFi is one of the first things that people have to do when they arrive, and so making that process as simple as possible will hopefully start their visit off on a good foot.
