The PYXEL file format uses Zip compression. You can rename the ".pyxel" extension to ".zip" and unzip the file. When extracting the contents there will be a folder that contains .PNG tile and layer files and a .JSON file with information, such as colors, settings, layers, and tiles, that describes the PYXEL file.
