Please Contact your MP
Dear Brian,
You might remember my 100-year-old WW2 veteran Mum Anne Puckridge and her incredible trip to Parliament last December, challenging the Prime Minister to end the cruel Frozen Pensions policy depriving half a million British Pensioners from a full state pension. I am so pleased to announce that thanks to our combined efforts, a debate in Parliament dedicated to my Mum and all Frozen Pensions victims is now set for this coming Tuesday!
Please would you kindly spare just a couple of minutes today, click this link, and ask your UK MP - in just a few clicks - to attend this debate and this huge opportunity to bring Anne’s story to life once more in the heart of Parliament.
Your support last time made a lot happen. You might remember Greg Stafford, the MP who bravely challenged the Prime Minister in person over his decision not to meet with my mum (you could watch this here if you missed it). During her week in Parliament, my Mum was on the BBC, ITV, Channel 5 and in most National print newspapers.
Greg Stafford MP is now leading next week’s debate that will be focused on Anne and the half a million other British overseas state pensioners who do not receive the yearly increases to the UK state pension. They see their state pension fall away in value each year as a result, with some receiving as little as £20 per week instead of the £176.45 they would otherwise likely receive had they remained in the UK or a non-‘frozen’ country such as France or the USA.
I would be immensely grateful for just a couple minutes of your time today – by asking your MP to attend next Tuesday’s debate, you can ensure Anne’s story remains a live national issue. The more MPs raise concerns about this harsh and outdated policy, the more pressure there will be on the Government to take notice.
By clicking this link and entering your postcode, you can ask your MP to attend using our suggested template.
Thank you again for the support you have lent my Mum’s fight for justice – it really means a lot. Now at the age of 100, she has not given up the cause she champions so passionately for all those affected. I hope you’ll feel able to keep up with her fight.
With heartfelt thanks,
Gill
