Thank you to everyone who worked hard sending emails to MPs and others. We now have some feedback regarding the success of the Round table event on 22nd April.

This is how the Round Table meeting of 22nd April was reported in the Daily Record.

"The UK Government is facing mounting international pressure to reform its controversial ‘frozen’ State Pension policy, as diplomats, MPs and campaigners gather in Parliament today. A high-level roundtable chaired by Labour MP Neil Duncan-Jordan on April 22 will bring together representatives from countries including Canada, Australia, South Africa and the Falkland Islands to examine the long-running issue, which affects more than 400,000 British pensioners living overseas.

...............

This marks the first time such a broad coalition has formally come together to address the policy and its wider international implications, reflecting a growing level of coordinated engagement among affected nations."

Amongst the representatives from other countries was Sarfaraz Ahmad Khan (First Secretary, Pakistan High Commission). He was a surprise attendee and did not know about the frozen pensions policy previously. Also arranged was an unscheduled meeting with Bill Blair, the new Canadian High Commissioner in London on Thursday 23rd April who expressed his support for our campaign.

This level of support demonstrates one of the objectives of the Round Table to contact and establish high level support from countries also impacted by Frozen Pensions.
