Colorful Cosmic Lemonade
BettyLab

This color-changing lemonade doesn't just look cool—it's packed with science! Most liquids are an acid or a base that can be measured on a pH scale of 0 to 14. Our lemonade experiment uses Butterfly Pea Flower Tea, which contains anthocyanin, a natural pH indicator.

Tools & Materials:

  • 1 Butterfly Pea Flower Tea Bag or 1 tsp. of loose flowers
  • 1 cup of water
  • Ice
  • 4 cups of lemonade
  • Measuring cups
  • Small ramekin or glass
  • 4 glasses
  • Straw or spoon for stirring
