Aqeeda E Risalat (عقیدہ رسالت) is the belief in the finality and perfection of the prophethood of Muhammad (ﷺ), the last and greatest messenger of Allah. It is one of the fundamental pillars of Islam and a core part of the Muslim creed. Aqeeda E Risalat implies that no prophet or messenger will come after Muhammad (ﷺ), and that his message is complete, universal, and eternal. Anyone who denies or doubts this belief is considered a disbeliever and out of the fold of Islam.
Aqeeda E Risalat is based on the clear and unequivocal verses of the Quran and the authentic narrations of the Prophet (ﷺ) and his companions. Some of these evidences are:
Aqeeda E Risalat also means that Muslims must follow and obey the Prophet (ﷺ) in all matters of religion and life, as he is the best example and guide for humanity. Allah says in the Quran: "Say, [O Muhammad], 'If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.'" [Al-Imran 3:31]
Aqeeda E Risalat also entails that Muslims must love, respect, honor, and defend the Prophet (ﷺ) and his family, companions, and followers. They must also refrain from insulting, mocking, or abusing him or his legacy in any way. Allah says in the Quran: "Indeed, We have sent you as a witness and a bringer of good tidings and a warner. That you [people] may believe in Allah and His Messenger and honor him and respect him." [Al-Fath 48:8-9]
Aqeeda E Risalat is a fundamental part of Islam that every Muslim must believe in and adhere to. It is a source of guidance, mercy, and blessing for all mankind until the Day of Judgment.
