The unique feature of this settlement is it is achieved without strikes and agitation. 

It is also unique that pensioners are getting some relief in the form of Exgracia.

With reference to what is stated in the 4th para, pensioners, particularly the pre2002 group, are still anxious about the quantum of exgratia but fervently hope it will meet their aspirations to a good extent.

Wisdom lies in accepting whatever offered and fight for updation later. Updation is not guaranteed. It may happen within in a yearor in next BPS or it may not happen. Till updation is resolved  we will get some extra amount in the form of Ex gratia. This is possible because of Hon.FM. If after elections she continue to hold same portfolio there are chances of getting updation.

Still wonder even when we all belong to same industry, how come pay and pension are different for RBI, SBI and other Banks?. I am sure Union has full knowledge of this since many years.

Let us not be grateful to the FM, but do not insult her good intentions. It was she who mooted a reasonable pension for senior retirees years back and ensured it by restoring 100%DA.

But for her, even this ex-gratia would not have materialised. We have come across FMs like Pranab Mukherjee,Chidambaram and even Arun Jaitley who were never sympathetic to us.

Those who do not appreciate the good intentions can very well refuse to accept 100%DA and ex-gratia.

Amused at the reactions of the learned colleagues.
