Dear Prasadji,
If the e-circular attached is to be reckoned, then there is huge anomoly in DA payable to SBI and other PSU Banks retired staff. To illustrate ,
My friend retired on SVRS from Canara Bank on 31/01/2001 after completing 23 Years of service. His Basic pension Rs6194/ +DA Rs8236.
Whereas asper SBI chart the DA payable is Rs11259/
Anamolous amount Rs3023/ is paid to SBI retirees.
Perhaps this is the reason why SBI retirees(those who retired before 31/10/2001) are silent on Pension updation and 100% neutralization of DA.and also why AIBOC is NOT  demanding the same from IBA  for other PSU retirees.
AIBEA/AIBOA should immediately look into the matter and demand IBA to implement DA Relief at par with SBI.

Dear friends,

I reiterate my earlier doubt.  I feel that 7th BPS has no bearing on SBI pension. Attached DA chart published in SBI pensioners association site affirm my understanding

Thanks, a Million.

Sirs

This is in response to Mr. Saini's mail:

All India State Bank of India Pensioner's Association has filed a writ petition in Supreme Court during March 2011 in this regard.   The following is the latest news:

Latest developments on "Revision of Pension" front
Federation has filed a writ under Article 32 in Supreme Court on 16th March 2011.
A strong and effective case has been made to resolve our long pending pension issues. It is expected that it will be admitted within a month or so.

VII Bipartiate SBI pensioners are waiting for a very long time to get justice.

Sir

I am still confused as I did not get 5 years notional addition after court judgement saying I have completed 19 years 8 months and 20 days from Bank of India from where I took SVRS in jan2001. I am a original pension optee and they took my qualifying service as 20 years for fixing pension in 2001. Canara bank has implemented 5 years notional addition for my friend who has opted for pension now and whose service is 19 years 9 months and who took SVRS in jan 2001. Will somebody clarify sec 29(5) pension act reg this.

Hi

Practically all banks have implemented this notional addition for SVRS 2000 employees and they have received hefty sum as arrears. The only hitch is it is implemented to people who have put in 20 completed years of service.

Shri Perumal

It is unfortunate that most of you are not aware that Basic Pension was restricted to 2400, 4250 and so on for SBI retirees - depending upon the date of retirement.   From the chart attached by Sri Prasad you can see it.
The earlier retirees (i.e) 5th, 6th and 7th bipartiate retirees were affected.  Govt. has approved some improvement for 6th and 8th bipartiate retirees.   7th bipartiate retirees are worst affected.   That is why they have filed cases in many High Courts.   Favourable verdicts were given by Madras High Court (in 2008) and Kerala High Court (in 2010).   In both the cases Govt has gone on appeal with no result in sight.   That is the main reason why SBI PENSIONERS' ASSOCIATION has filed a writ petition in Supreme Court in March 2011 under Article 32.

With every bipartiate settlement, the question of Basic Pension of SBI retirees is becoming very tricky - the senior officials (Senior Management Grade IV and above) are worst affected.

We have no other go except to wait for the verdict of the courts.

Yours
Jayakrishnan T.V.

I think SBI pension rules differs from pension rules of PSBs. To my knowledge in SBI pension is paid as a third benefit apart from contributory PF and Gratuity.

DEAR SHRI   JAYA KRISHNAN T.V, THANKS FOR CLEARING  THE PENSION ISSUES OF SBI PENSIONERS, YOU WILL SURPRISE TO NOTE THAT 7TH BIPARTITE RETIREES IN SBI IS SO MUCH AFFACTED THAT A SCALE 4 IN SBI OF 7TH BIPARTITE RETIREES ARE AT PRESENT IS GETTING LESS THAN 29% OF THEIR PAY AS BASIC PENSION. MOREOVER THE FORMULA OF 50%/40% IS SO DEFECTIVE THAT A PENSIONER WITH 30YEARS SERVICE AND WITH 24 YEARS SERVICE ARE GETTING THE SAME PENSION I.E LESS THAN OF 29% IN THE CASE OF SCALE 4 AND ABOVE.
