Sir

Renewal of health insurance from November this year is found very difficult to  most of the retirees.Because more than two months pension may be required for payment of renewal premium. If the Banks do not come forward for subsiding the premium most of the retirees will have no other alternative
than to quit health insurance .

Therefore it is high time for the Unions and IBA to initiate and do something urgently in this regard.

Dear Friends,

I am told that IBA health Insurance is much more beneficial than the banks health insurance like SyndArogya, New India Canara Mediclaim Policy. Can anybody enlighten me about the pros and cons of IBA health insurance and other banks insurance so as to decide whether it is worth to continue the IBA health insurance. I am aged 63 and I don't have serious health issues. I am subscribing SyndArogya since 10 years and also subscribed to IBA health Insurance since inception. So far by the grace of Almighty there was no necessity arised to claim medical reimbursement.

Thanking you
Yours sincerely
B Varadaraj Pai

Dear Varadaraj Pai,
Taking a health insurance policy is a personal choice. No policy covers all the contingencies. It is a calculated risk.
I am also 63,and so far no health issues.I discontinued IBA policy in 2016.
Now I want to take Synd Aarogya as a reserve.
With regards,
P Bhaskara Sarma.

Dear Sir
SyndArogya is valid only upto 80 years and there is copay clause at 80:20 and limit on items of expenditure other than drugs. Where as in IBA policy there is no such ceiling and they make payment to the extent of actual expenses subject to maximum ₹4.00 in case of officers and ₹3.00 in the case of workmen. What I wanted to know the advantages over SyndArogya and vice-versa.
Thanking you,
Yours sincerely
B Varadaraj Pai

Dear Varadaraj Pai,
Manny other policies too don't cover old people beyond 80.Secondly these policy terms are subject to change and the schemes may be wound up even as happened to the schemes of BOI, BOB.
We can not think that far. Many changes take place over the next 17years.So I don't think it is wise to think that far.The health insurance terms change too often as per changing situation every year.
With regards,
P Bhaskara Sarma.

Dear Varadaraj Pai,
You are healthy normally. So you may never feel the necessity of getting hospitalised at all. This IBA insurance policy doesn't cover any treatment under Naturopathy or Ayurveda.I take the assistance of Naturopathy or Homeo pathy. Thus there are exclusions for every policy and no policy is foolproof.
Nowadays many chronic diseases are cured effectively through Naturopathy, Ayurveda or Homoeopathy. But this policy doesn't reimburse even one Rupee under these systems. In old age if you depend on Allopathy,it gives side effects and you will be drawn into the vicious circle of more and more chronic diseases. These Insurance schemes are just promoting the lobby of Allopathy Hospitals and their malpractices and inflated bills.I need insurance policy to cover any unforeseen or unfortunate accident. For all other purposes I prefer to go for more effective indigenous systems of medicine. So I feel Synd Aarogya or AB Aarogya Daan is sufficient. If any copay is there,it is ok.That happens only in case of any unforeseen contingency.Myself and my wife, both are allergic to Allopathy medicines. So I feel such of those who prefer Naturopathy, Ayurveda, Homoeopathy etc, this IBA insurance policy is irrelevant.
With regards,
P Bhaskara Sarma.

In the case of IBA policy the claim settlement is below 70%. I am a sufferer and hence this post.
