Dear Mr Nair,
What you have stated is an expectation, and may be most of the pensioners too wish for that at least ,in the absence of Updation of Pension.
I have shown in my earlier messages, the exact difference towards parity with 12th BPS pensioner and of 5th BPS pensioner which comes to more than ₹20000 plus per month.Yes.A minimum percentage above gap would have been better than this Ex gratia.More amount to pensioners of earlier settlements and less for latest.
As we know,Ex-gratia now granted to past pensioners, is not a permanant feature. There is no assurance that we may get,the same in every wage revision. So, that may not be inseparable in wage revision.
12th BPS/9th Joint Note dt.8th Mar'24,clearly spelt out that it will be effective from 1st Nov 2022 to 31st Oct 2027 only.Next we may not know.
So far no Unions/IBA has explained on the principle adopted on fixing such 'factors'.Unfortunately the reduction of Ex-gratia was only in their agenda!
Pension updation may only bring cheers to all bank pensioners/family pensioners.
Which has already taken back seat now.!
