Can anyone make the computation sheet for the basic pension, dearness relief and total pension payable from 01 November 2022, with 0.01% change in DA for change in every second decimal place of CPI 2016 over 123.03 points?

Dear Mr Mathew Simon,
For the time being this is only  for an understanding on your point.

At the outset it may be stated that implementation of merger of CPI 8088 points,  as in the case of serving employees /and pensioners retiring w.e.f 1.11.22 to all past retirees too,may happen little bit later.Minutes of 8.3.24 kept this point pending,  under 'Residual Issues'.It may happen certainly.

On merger of CPI 8088 points to our basic pension and consequent change in CPI series to 2016=100 instead of existing,1960=100 may not bring any substantial hike in our DR.(Here it comes to ₹1104.)

Let me illustrate this aspect through  the attached details , for your information.

Process is same w.e.f 1.11.2022 based on average CPI at that point of time which has been implemented  to retirees under 12th BPS/9th JN.

My dear Mohan,Ex Gratia must be inseparable from wage revision.According to me,total of our basic pension plus da must be notionally brought to the level of pensions in 12 th bps and 60 to 70 percent of the difference must be given as ex gratia.Factoring for ex gratia is an unheard of theory.Recently banks paid ex gratia of 12000,10000 etc to pensioners of 5 th and 6 th bps  without applying any factoring.

Dear Mr Nair,
What you have stated is an expectation, and may be most of the pensioners too wish for that at least ,in the absence of Updation of Pension.
I have shown in my earlier messages, the exact difference towards parity with 12th BPS pensioner and of 5th BPS pensioner which comes to more than ₹20000 plus per month.Yes.A minimum percentage above gap would have been better than this Ex gratia.More amount to pensioners of earlier settlements and less for latest.

As we know,Ex-gratia now granted to past pensioners, is not a permanant feature. There is no assurance that we may get,the same in every wage revision. So, that may not be inseparable in wage revision.
12th BPS/9th Joint Note dt.8th Mar'24,clearly spelt out that it will be effective from 1st Nov 2022 to 31st Oct 2027 only.Next we may not know.
So far no Unions/IBA has explained on the principle adopted on fixing such 'factors'.Unfortunately the reduction of Ex-gratia was only in their agenda!

Pension updation may only bring cheers to all bank pensioners/family pensioners.
Which has already taken back seat now.!

As of now pension updation is buried under the debris of UFBU and IBA.
The stakeholders are enjoying vaikunta samaradham of bipartite rituals at the cost of senior and super senior veterans who are eagerly waiting for some relief to survive through pension improvement in the form of Exgracia in lieu of pension updation .The Exgracia concept and the formula adopted has put chilli powder on the wounds of  pensioners.

Only  the legal fights  pending in court cases can only bring justice which may take years to be pronounced.
By that time many pensioners will disappear from this discussion and this world.
Therefore  please do not waste your energy and spoil your health on this issue and be happy with what ever you are getting.

Dear Shri Mohan
I observe from the illustration of AIBEA that 100%DR neutralisation has been considered for arriving at the Ex-gratia for pre 1-11-2002 retirees.
However in the calculator forwarded by you, apparently slab wise DR has been taken for calculating Ex-gratia.
Please advise whether AIBEA illustration should not be accepted .

Dear Sri Balasundaram,

As per 12th BPS/9th Joint Note basic Pension plus DR as at Oct 22 need to be multiplied by factor given to arrive Ex-gratia for pensioners.
To apply notionally 100% DR is a subject may be confirmed on issue of cir by  banks /IBA.
( it came up for discussion  since AIBEA illustration has applied so)
Regards,
