It seems that due to wide spread campaign by AIBPRAC, and other retiree Associations as also pressure from AIBOC & UFBU the IBA has come down admitting funds requirement for updation to Rs.6300crs and realised that their earlier claim of Rs.95000 crs. was exorbitant and arbitrary which seems the Govt./ F.M. also admitted and realised that retirees updation cannot be denied and have to be granted. Let us hope something good is done at last. Perhaps a good news is flowing finally for the retirees.

Sir,

From where you have got this  news that the cost of updation now accepted by IBA  is Rs. 6300 crores.

Mr. Bandlish, convener of UBFU addressed one meeting of bank's retirees in Chandigarh just few days back and he shared that the issue of Family Pension has been sent to GOI for approval by SBI. He also assured that the updation of pension will also be done in this BPS , may be in a phased manner. So, i also guess, something will happen this time in BPS. I sent this video on bankpensioner blog also..

I also spoke to Mr. Datta, GS, AIBOC on his mobile last week, about the  poor conditions of bank's retirees and he also assured that the cost of updation as assumed by IBA is on the very very high side and therefore he will get cost of updation independently soon and will prevail upon IBA to do something on updation issue.

Kind regards,

O.P.SHARMA

At the most, FP may be considered Shri DMji.As reg updation, IBA-UFBU
revolves around cost circus.

Shri.Mukherjee Da.You have given a very good indication of good news and finally  any issue can't be prolonged beyond any time limits. However the retirees have to wait for facts and figures till final agreement is signed and copy of 11th bps hand out is made public to all retirees and serving employees is made.As you are one of the senior member of the blog and your information will boost the hopes of frustrated retirees who  have been critics of all stakeholders. All said and done many retirees have delivered on ifs and buts of the capacity of negotiating team. Let us wait for final copy of the 11th bipartite agreement copy and react.I personally  agree with you pridiction/message. With regards. Let us wait to celebrate the happy occasion which seems to be imminent.

How much this news is true? As far as our memory goes in last meeting IBA asked UFBU to suggest names of actuaries. So when UFBU appointed actuaries and where is report? It is unlikely that IBA accepting it mistake easily. Unless actuaries report shared by AIBOC or UFBU this news cannot be trusted.

Dear Colleagues,
It is astonishing to find that IBA has scaled down astronomically it's cost estimates.
Beware, similar dis (mis) information was circulated during 10th  BPS, that 100%=DA nuetralisation is to be implemented but the end was Record Note.
It is imperative that records are pursued before coming to conclusions

The final source to believe the message will be only i repeat only final 11th bps signed copy of the settlement. As Shri D.Mukherjee da is senior he may be having some hear say information through his contract with UFBU leadership. All said and done nobody can give evidence or affidavit about on going developments and pending negotiations including the negotiating team. There fore  it all depends on continuous  efforts and persuasion of all stakeholders to see the retirees issues are positively resolved. Let us hope that things might have changed to deliver the decades old waiting may end soon for retirees.

It sounds to be a rumour. There can’t be this huge difference in estimated by IBA and this new estimation if 6300 cr.  Not possible.

May be the incremental cost of updation will be around 6300 cr, in view of the fact that the number of pensioners is shrinking day by day and no more addition of pensioners will be there. The figure may be correct. Let us hope for the best.

UFBU leaders are well aware that  pensioners are angry with UFBU as none of the pensioners demands is being discussed seriously. As XI BPS is reaching  signing stage UFBU leaders are getting jittery  that pensioners groups may bring stay on BPS. So they are spreading misinformation that updation is going to be settled/IBA has scaled down cost of updation etc.so that  pensioners wait till day of signing settlement without  approaching courts. Once BPS signed giving  some excuse for not resolving updation UFBU leaders will be in relaxing mood and plan vacation.

It is true that the retirees are concerned about their issues as they are pending since so many years. It is also true that  the retirees had high hopes in 10 th bps settlement that some justice will be done
to retirees. Contrary to that the UFBU has signed  record note hurting the sentiments of the entire retirees community. What  has happened is part of history. The retirees had an occasion to venture for  stay on bps .During that period lot of speculation was there about court stay.Nothing of that sort will happen now also. The UFBU is capable of facing any misadventure by any corner leave alone retirees. Retirees are senior veterans of the movement and they are angry but will not pull the legs of their own present negotiating team and jeopardize the ongoing negotiations. The RBI pension updation issue is a strong point to fight for updation of pension etc.I recall to the memory of learned members that the Aibea leadership com CHV has sought the views of retirees association about pension updation and the line of  negotiations to be observed. There fore the retirees issues have to be solved with out delay in11th bps .It is unfair to attribute any stigma  for on going efforts of UFBU based on previous back ground. We have to look forward for amicable solutions and strengthen the negotiating team resolve our issues as they are only competent to settle all issues of both serving employees as well as retirees issues as pension regulations/ agreement is signed by unions under  industrial disputes act.Any amount of criticisms will not  solve the retirees issues. This 11th bps  will bring justice to retirees issues as they are over due and it's  is the responsibility cast on UFBU which is backed by pension updation implemented in RBI. Let us wait  for celebration forgetting what has happened in earlier settlements.

Such false news is purposely spread by UFBU/ AIBEA through its stoogies, so that Retirees Group may not bring stay Order on BPS. Such stoogies cuningly advise Retirees to wait till conclusion of BPS. Such stoogies vanish from this Board and go to hell.

It may be calculator error...IBA  has to learn how to arrive at figures and UFBU  has to learn how to confuse and  convince. All these things are immaterial. The UFBU should take stubborn stand and insist Government and IBA to extend RBI pension updation to bank retirees also. Nothing to project imaginary and wrong figures. No more cock and bull stories. Settle the retirees issues or quit the negotiations. Launch indefinite strike actions.

Mr Deshponde. No body derive any benefits if the information received turns out to be fakeor false. Even the negotiating team may not share any positive progress made in 25 months of negotiations unless it is intialed by UFBU and IBA representatives. Those who live on hopes of positive thinking are not stooges and who oppose the negotiating team are not enemies. It is individuals perception on which we have no rights to allege in irresponsible ways. No body can prevent if anybody is going to court to bring  stay. UFBU is capable of facing any such threat from any corner. The veterans who fought for collective bargaining will not pull the negotiating team to suchlevel which is not beneficial to eaither parties. This group is only to exchange knowledge with mutual respect and not make any sarcastic comments against any organisation or individual. The 11th  bps settlement will give proper replay to all what exactly the retirees gain.Till such time the debate continue with mutual respect to all parties.

While Rs.6300cr.is annual outgo for updation of pension but in any case IBA's first claim of
Rs.95,000crs.requirement was not true figure which was in fact fabricated figure. Even IBA appointed
Actuari's recent submission requirement of Rs.42000+cr.is actually cumulative figure for updation
requirement taking into consideration of updation cost every five years as revision of employees salary
takes place every five years which also includes cumulative revision of family pension @30%.as per
Govt. pensioners. Perhaps these figures will further come down after actual present number of retirees
and family pensioners is known as above figures were estimated/calculated taking into consideration of
6lacs plus retirees and 5lacs family pensioners. IBA & Actuary submitted the figures on the basis of
old data of number of retirees & family pensioners with the IBA without ascertaining present number of
retirees & family pensioners.
