Thank you, Mr.Gulati for this useful information. Hopefully, this would put at rest the needless doubts, apprehensions,
speculations etc., over non-publication of the index figure on the last day of every month as done earlier.
Perhaps, there is a similar calendar for the FY 2024-25 as per which the due date for publishing the figure in Feb 2025(pertaining to December 2024)has not arrived yet.
Hope, it will be today or tomorrow.

Last year ( 2024-25 ) it was released (just as a formality), but the Govt/Labour Bureau didn't adhere to the announced schedule.

What is the use of such release when they don't follow the schedule ?

Dear Friends,

There need not have any confusion on dates of publication of CPI figures.
There are system of publication of specific advance dates in the past and present  on publication of CPI figures especially one by Labour Bureau. It is not new practice.

Here the issue discussed is, on not adhering the such dates already published, and prefer their own dates without any clarification /reason of change of schedule.

Seen lot of messages here on  advanced dates of publication of  CPI figures.
Please note that there are different  CPI numbers such as  for Rural Agricultural workers etc which are not related to us,such as few other ones. The above is regularly published almost  in middle of each month.

All india Consumer Price Index Number Base year 2016=100 for Industrial Workers including bank staff and bank pensioners
are published by Labour Bureau, Ministry of Finance,GOI and not by statistical Dept.

Coming to Advance dates on publication of such figures there is a calendar for publication of AICPIN-IW 2016=100 also in the past and present. Every monthly report they reiterate that date.Usually last working  day of each month.

Deviation from such specific dates already published in  calendar of advance list is the subject matter here, and  not absence of any advanced Calendar of dates.

Whatever dates now shown has no relevance with AICPIN-IW 2016=100,which has a specific calander hitherto, followed till few months back and become irregular in latest months, regularly!

Let MOF atleast here after go as per their to publish the data without deviation to keep up their credibility.

I think, while in service we never bothered so much about DA. This was, perhaps because we were engrossed in work and no time to think about the quarterly DA revision. Now that most of us have lot of spare time at our disposal
and as pension updation also keeps eluding us, we have started yearning for the half yearly DR increases although it is only to compensate, to some extent, the erosion in money value due to increase in cost of living.

Dear Sri.Mohan ji,

Adverting to the contents of the second para, I feel that it is futile expect the government departments to stick to the pre-published schedules when our own UFBU is not doing so and is not inclined to keep us informed about the developments in resolving even simple issues like merger of DA at 8088 level,
shifting all pensioners to new CPI series,
rectifying anomaly in exgratia of pre Nov 2002 pensioners, etc.,

Sir,
Let us not compare in service employees income and bank pensioners. Both have huge differences as every one aware.Forget about benefits on career advancement and impact on  income thereby.Even other wise the avenues for addition legitimate income are there for employees  as increments and various allowances, perks etc.

The argument that pensioners have enough spare time to discuss on their DR  and in-service employees didn't have much time  has no merit.
Bank pensioners have to depend only  on his monthly pension alone  that too  without any change of the basic pension fixed at the time of retirement.( I am talking about pensioners living only on the meagure monthly pension at the advanced age with its own extra inevitable medical expenses)
Few hundred  or thousand rupees additional  once in six months in the form of DR  for a bank retiree is not a negligible one to avoid his anticipation or enquiry of expected DR rise.No avenues for him to add eligible extra amount as in the case of in service employees.

Let individuals and associations raise their legitimate demands and rights in current  digital media at least to make aware the  authorities on their lapses and neglect in discharging timely obligations.

Why so much tension about CPI?  it will be announced and we get DA. At this age. We should not have too much tension

Sir,
I do agree with you that DR is very important to pensioners than it is to employees. At the same time, I also feel that we need not get unduly and unnecessarily perturbed over the delay in publication of AICPN figures unless such delay/s result in our not getting DR increases in time. That's all. Thanks for your response.
