Submission of Life certificate through Mobile phones

Dear Sir,

Canara bank has issued very lucid guidance on submission of Life certificate by its senior colleagues using their mobile phones, which will be very helpful under the prevalent pandemic conditions. 

The same is reproduced hereunder :

*Procedure for submission of Digital Life Certificate by Pensioner through UMANG App from Android Phones.*

1. Install UMANG App from Play Store and register. ( register by providing mobile number and OTP)

2. after login, click certificates, and then select social security and pensioners catogory on top. 

3. Click  on "Jeevan Pramaan" 

4. Once you click on Jeevan Pramaan,  options available are “Generate Life Certificate" & "View Life Certificate” .

5. Click on "Generate Life Certificate". A pop up window for entering  Aadhar No and Mobile No is displayed. Enter both the details and click on "Generate OTP".

(mobile number should be the same number as in adhaar)

*Please note that any one of the following Biometric devices should be connected to Mobile before clicking on Generate OTP.*

6. OTP will be sent to the Registered Mobile Number of the pensioner.

7. Once OTP is entered, select the Biometric device (from the list displayed) which is connected to the Mobile through OTG cable. If RD services is not pre installed in Mobile,  it will ask for installation of the same.  Click on "Install".

8.  Once installed, click on "Next" then the Pensioner Authentication Screen will be displayed. Enter the full details including Name,PPO No, other pension details  & Click on "Scan Finger".

9. Once finger Print is matched,  DLC is generated which completes the process of submission of DLC.

10.  The  life  certificate  has  a  unique  Pramaan  ID,  which  shall  be  SMSed  to pensioner  on  the  mobile  number  provided  by  him/her.  Also,  the  Pramaan  ID  can  be  used  anytime  to  download  the  digital  life certificate  from  the  service  “View  Life  Certificate” available  on  UMANG  app.

Dear Sir,

the procedure is not user friendly for senior citizens whose finger prints may. not tally with bio-metric.

also the suggested bio metric tag cost is more than thousand rupees.Banks have to consider to 

allow pensioners to submit life certificate in the nearby branch as a special case by producing

bank's id.card and aadhar card.Also extension of the period of submission of life certificate be

made till 31st December 2020.

For once in an year event and for a single use you have to buy the scanner costing more than a thousand rupees is it worth?

And who knows after an year it may become obsolete or you may have to go for a new one.

Hope you know telangana govt is using an application for this purpose  of life  certificate. 

Kindly look in to this application. 

You may find still simpler one.

It can be attempted only when u have bio metric device which cost is substantial.

Sir You can send scanned copy of life certificate along with a copy of your PPO &aadhar card through whatsup and have a talk with branch manager as a proof of your living.

Telangana govt declared a simple application for the purpose of life certificate for govt employees ,   banks can verify the application and declare  such application is valid or develop another simpler application suiting banking fraternity
