FOR INFORMATION:

 

ALL INDIA CONSUMER PRICE INDEX NUMBER FOR INDUSTRIAL WORKERS (AICPIN-IW) 2016=100,FOR APRIL’23. ____________________________

As per release made by Labour Bureau, Ministry of Labour and Employment,Govt. of India,today the All India Consumer Price Index Numbers,for industrial workers,for April 2023  (AICPIN-IW) 2016 = 100  stood at  134.2 points, with an increase  of 0.9 points,compared to March'23 figures as  follows:

  Base year 2016=100.. 1960=100    

April'23. 134.2.    8822.12

The above index number is taken for arriving bank pensioners DR for next half year along with May & June figures.

We may expect  29 slabs  increase in DR if next two months index numbers too are on same level.May be more, if it goes up.

Exact figures can be arrived only after release of index numbers for May and June'23.

As per Ministry of labour &Employment:

The maximum upward pressure in current index came from Food & Beverages group contributing 0.39 percentage points to the total change. At item level, Rice, Arhar Dal, Apple, Banana, orange, cauliflower, Brinjal, cabbage, Ginger, peas, Dairy Milk, French bean, Lemon, Cumin seed/Jira, Chillies dry, Cooked Meal, Poultry Chicken, Ladies Suiting, etc. are responsible for the rise in index. However, this increase was largely checked by Wheat Atta, Tomato, onion, Drum Stick, Lady's Finger, Mango, Soyabean oil, sunflower Oil, Mustard Oil, Egg-Hen, Electricity Domestic, Firewood and Chips, etc. putting downward pressure on the index. 

At centre level, Howrah recorded a maximum increase of 4.1 points. Among others, 4 centres recorded increase between 2to2.9 points,30 centres between I to 1.9 points and 37 centres between 0.1 to 0.9 points. On the contrary, Salem recorded a maximum decrease of 1.9 points. Among others, 11 centers recorded decrease between 0.1 to 0.9 points. Rest of four centers index remained stationary.”
