MOVING FORWARD TO UPDATION OF PENSION

Dear Friends,

One of the major long pending issues of bank pensioners is too resolved now.Pre Nov 2002 pensioners can rejoice now, yes, others too may join with them.Though it is allowed on prospective date,  it is a great achievement.

As per available data around 1.81 lakhs of pensioners/family pensioners are beneficiaries of above.

We have to thank all,  right from Hon.Finance Minister to UFBU/IBA and Retirees Apex Organisations too.

Certainly this is another milestone in the history of bank pensioners to move forward towards securing Updation of Pension to all bank pensioners consisting more than five lakhs.

Let it happen through court or through ongoing negotiation of UFBU with IBA.

The case WP 1875/2013  filed by SBI pensioners’ Association vs Union of India  before Delhi High Court  is listed now to 7^th Nov 2023.It may be expected that court may decide finally on above date,whether Committee submit final report or not.(as per cir of FSBIPA)

The other case WP 5561/2016 filed by late M.C.Singla vs Union of India is listed to 10th October 23 before Supreme Court on pension updation.

There may have decision in both cases shortly,whatever it may be.

The distance towards our final destination is reduced now and, Friends, Updation of Pension too  will  happen soon.

Let us wait fir that good day.

It is a great achievement of (no doubt) UFBU in getting 100.DA.In the past they might have done some mistakes.Now it's all clear.Thanks to UFBU,IBA,and all retirees associations.pension updation also will be signed by them shortly.

Mr. Mohan P, 

Your approach and outlook is indeed very appreciable. In fact, in our struggle for 100 pc neutralization of DA the existing unions and confederations like AIBEA etc and UFBU played positive role. Similarly, Retiree organisations like AIBPARC etc also carried forward the struggle and negotiations in their own . So, no single organisation can claim credit. Similarly, we , the retirees should thank all instead of abusing certain imaginery enemy.

If updation happens,  will it be inclusive of the 100% DA Neutralization benefit ?

Mr Sastry,

Yes,surely.On extending  100%;DR to pre 2002 pensioners all bank pensioners, coming under a uniform platform as far as DR is concerned and updation for pre 2002 as well as to post 2002 pensioners benefit would be equal .

Even before updation ,if needed ,this may also pave way for single uniform DR rate to pensioners as in the case of serving employees with merger of  CPI points 8088 points under 12th BPS.Here there may not have much increase to all categories, and there by no cost too involved.

Let us wait for coming developments.

Sri. Lingam Ramalingam, 

UFBU sabotaged the 100% DA case before the SC after we won the case in High Courts. We lost the SC Case two decades ago

due to UFBU. The UFBU totally ditched the interests of the PSB Pensioners in 1995, when the worst Pension scheme was 

brought in, due to their clandestine underhand dealing with the IBA. Because of their unholy pact with the IBA, UFBU did not have a 

face to demand Pension Updation, FPR etc from the IBA.  In 2021 , FPR @ 30% flat was brought in Unilaterally by the Government through the 

IBA in which UFBU was only a passive signatory.  In the 100 % DA also UFBU was Just a PASSIVE SIGNATORY .UFBU  has another 

practical fear. If they push any issues of the Pensioners then, IBA , in turn, ask the UFBU to accept a reduced  Wage hike because of the cost load 

 involved for resolving the Pensioners'  demands.

UFBU is focused only on 15% wage hike and 5 days' banking.  Hence both the FPR ( in 2021 )  and now the 100% DA  has been unilaterally

implemented by the Govt. through the IBA in which the UFBU has been a passive signatory only. UFBU has been at the beck and call of the 

IBA as for as PSB Pensioners' issues are concerned.. Their aim is 15% wage hike and LEVY

During the last 3-4 hearings  it is observed that both petitioners and respondents are requesting adjournment by rotation and no developments have taken place in this case.

Today 10.10.23 it is interesting to watch who will  request for adjournment.

Our Advocates, s/Shri Sewa Ram, PK Manohar and Sr Advocate Dr Manish Singhvi along with Adv Sunny Chowdhary Advocate on Record for MC Singhla were present in the Court. Shri Pankaj Bhardwaj and Gochwal of PNB were also present in the Court whole day. I (Dr JD Sharma) also remained in the Court throughout the day. The Court could hear cases upto Sl. No. 21. Next date in our case is fixed as 21.11.2023.

We will try for a better Sl No. For next date.
