 Dear Prasad
Retired employees medical benefit scheme-II - SBI & Associates

SBT has issued their circular  dated 3/09/2012 -Retired employees medical benefit scheme-II (REMBS-II).But this scheme specifically reject entitlement to employees retired in VRS/SVRS/CRS. You have pointed out earlier the new scheme will be
irrespective of mode of retirement .Can we expect any amendment.

SVRS was neither demanded by bank unions or association nor by any individual bank employee. The scheme was formulated by the Bank itself with the larger interests of Bank i.e. reduction in load of staff salaries. Bank invited the applications under the scheme. Bank employees had option to opt SVRS or not, at the same time Bank had the option either to accept or reject the applications received under the scheme taking into consideration Bank’ interests. Ultimately, bank remained successful in its aim.

Bank has no option to reject the retirement of an employee at the age of 60, though it may be harmful to the Bank. It is still a mystery what prompted banks to create discrimination between the retirees under SVRS and retirees at superannuation age. Our unions and associations must come straight forward on the issue and must take steps to justify the matter by the managements.

Dear SBI ASSOCIATES Banks friends,This medical scheme is not applicable to SVRS of 2001/EXITOPTEES OF 2006/07AND other VRS categories. Our leaders both serving and retirees can through some light for not extending the benefit to the above group.Let us prepare for the worst and hope for the best.Man is living on hopes

I endorse the views of Venkata Raoji.Going on VRS/exit is not a crime or an offence, to deny any benefits.
