--FriendsI am informed by reliable sources that UBIRWA has been instructed by AIBRF to file Curative Petition only after the signing of BPS. As things stand today, BPS will not be signed in the near future. By the time BPS is signed and the Curative Petition is filed the petition may be dismissed for delay. If the much expected updation issue is not clinched in the BPS, the pre Nov 2002 pensioners would have to forget the equality in DA for ever.It is not the VRS optees alone who are suffering due to lower DA, Pensioners who retired ever since January 1986 are the victims.RegardsN.Sankarasubramanian

But whetherupdation will happen?I feel ultimately only one thing will be there, viz. Family pension improvement and all other issues will be kept pending.G RamachandranCB-SVRS.On Tue, 5 Mar 2019 4:01 PM NSS, <nsanka...@gmail.com> wrote:--SirSome pensioners may settle for a compromise solution. I don't think it is the view of the majority. Those who prefer a compromise must seriously ponder over the following.
- Filing of Curative Petition will get us 100% DA with arrears from May 2005. Having waited for 14 years, we should not lose patience at this crucial hour.
- The pre 2002 pensioners are drawing paltry sum as pension. Those who retired subsequent to Nov 2002 are in a much better position as their basic pension is high due to wage revision and their DA is also more due to 100% neutralisation.
- By letting go the arrears of 100% DA, the Associations are actually " Robbing Peter to pay Paul".
- There is no assurance/ guarantee that foregoing the arrears DA by Pre Nov 2002 retirees will get us updation.
- If updation issue is not settled in the negotiations, the pre Nov 2002 retirees will forego the 100% DA for ever.
Pre Nov 2002 retirees should not settle for anything less than 100% DA with full arrears. Eagerness to settle for prospective payment of 100% DA may result in permanent loss.RegardsN.SankarasubramanianOn Tuesday, 5 March 2019 10:00:07 UTC+5:30, Gunasekharan R wrote:Why UFBU Meeting on 13/03/2019?
Finally the Cat is out of Bag. IBA Chairman has assured Retirees on the occasion of Silver jubilee Conference of AIBRF that issues of Retirees would be considered and also declared himself to be a future Member of the AIBRF to infuse confidence to the Retirees. One shall derive two inferences from the Statement, one that your organisation gets suo moto Recognition and two your issues will be amicably settled. It's a departure from known positions Bureaucrats normally take. Then why Retirees' Organisations are not called for consultation or negotiation? As all of us know the proverbial fact "Too many cooks will spoil the Cake".
Already AIBEA has come to an understanding to arrive at the Settlement barring AIBOC as per indications available in the public domain and Com . CHV (Gl.Secy of AIBEA) has also assured that the Issues of Retirees would be taken care of, assuming the position of KARTHA in a Joint Bank Employees Family. The only issue to be sorted out is how to bring AIBOC on Board.
The Convenor of UFBU has called for Meeting of UFBU on 13/03/2019 giving enough time and space for the constituents of UFBU to have free and frank informal consultations before coming to Meeting on 13/03/2019 to project themselves as a unified Organisation in the eye of the Govt./IBA. Let us all hope the twin objective of unifying UFBU as well as signing of Settlement is achieved.
Total pay load as already indicated (with some marginal increase) with regard to 11th BPS and the Cost towards Updation of Pension, Increase in Family Pension and implementation of 100% DA Neutralisation for Pre Nov 2002 Retirees (given the financial position of Pension Corpus Fund) will not be a big problem to settle at. The only set back being Pre Nov 2002 retirees may not get DA (100% Neutralisation) arrears amounting to approx. Rs 4000 Crores for the period from May 2005 till date, given to understand the reality that we prefer not to go for CURATIVE PETITION.
From the contents of blogs from sizable members, we could understand many of them are reconciled for a compromise solution, as someone indicated as middle class instinct, instead of a head on legal process. It suits the leadership also.
IN OLDEN DAYS IT WAS "AS IS THE KING, SO IS HIS PEOPLE" but now a days "AS IS THE MEMBERSHIP SO IS THE LEADERSHIP"

They cannot say that the retirees issues cannot be solved. Chairman, IBA had said that the demands will be considered and discussed. In the previous BPS too they have been considered and discussed. But nothing positive emerged. Above all the demand of AIBOC in respect of mandate is yet to be resolved and we do not know when the talks will be resume. There is nothing to feel optimistic.RegardsN.Sankarasubramanian

Govt. of India - Ministry of Finance, vide their letter dated 5th. March, 2019 gave their approval to RBI to implement Pension Updation in RBI......
How about in Public Sector Banks..... is a Million Dollar Question.....
A sustained struggle - both on the organisational front as also on the Legal front, by the working employees and the retirees of the RBI could achieve this ultimately.
This could happen because of the leadership credibility in RBI Employees/Retirees who have, all along been working on cohesive lines in the interest of their retired comrades.
ON THE CONTRATRY, the same is not the case with our UFBU Leadership , who have been all along ditching the Retirees making their intentions- clearly manifesting in black and white in their so called "MAGNACARTA" (RECORD NOTE) IN 2015.
Considering our past experience, we can not believe the UFBU leadership whose integrity is very much doubtful.
What all we could achieve so far, is only by virtue of legal battle with little involvement on the part of the retiree organizations even.
