Pension as is well known, is the deferred portion of the compensation for rendering long years of service. It is a hard-earned benefit accruing to an employee, in the nature of property,", the bench comprising Justices R. Subhash Reddy and Hrishikesh Roy observed.

Whatever the reason, the Prime Minister's move was a "masterstroke", just like the demonetisation move in 2016. It was not even known to any political pundit because they were living in the illusion that Modi does not take a step back.

Taking cognizance of minor disagreements in the name of farmers and announcing the withdrawal of such laws, which have been notified after the assent of His Excellency the President, can undoubtedly be done only by a politician of strong will power like Modi. Country should feel proud to have a toughest man in driving seat of India as nation of 130 crore.

These forces do their work and when needed, they are seen in supporting each other. His sympathisers are also politicians and journalists. Such politicians and journalists do not criticize or oppose the policies and programs of Modi government in public interest, but are working on the lines of "enemy's enemy is friend" with a sense of vengeance. When such people became sympathetic to the anti-nationals in the blind opposition of Modi, they did not know, while the world's well-known political analysts and journalists sitting thousands of miles away from India have been discussing it.

> Modi has three drawbacks, first is that he is honest, the second drawback is that he is born in a backward caste and the third drawback is to be born in an ordinary poor family. The departure of the Nehru dynasty from the Takht-e-Taus of Delhi is hurting the dynastic ruler and his warlords. Seeing the Nehru dynasty, many regional royal houses have been formed in the country. The royal houses that have been uprooted from power have become blind in vengeance. We have a simple thinking, whatever has happened against the dynastic rulers, has been done by the democratic Constitution and the people. Modi is completely innocent. He is honest, it is his conscience. He was born in a backward caste, it is not his fault. He was born in an ordinary poor family, it is not his fault either.

Channi's love for Pakistan is not new. The country has also seen such courtship between Abdullah's father-son and Muftis. The country has seen Navjot Sidhu bowing at the feet of Imran Khan and Bajwa. After seeing all this we understand that the country has no illusions about Sidhu, Channi's agenda. They were following the strategy of the Antonio Maino, which Captain Amarinder Singh was not ready to do.

See, Punjab Chief Minister Channi is glorifying such miscreants and giving financial assistance. One state which is dealing against miscreants in court, another state of the Republic of India is giving aid to these criminals from the state. If there is Congress, anything can happen!

To
Smt Nirmala Sitaraman,                                                     21-11-21

Hon’ble Finance Minister,

Govt. of India, New Delhi.

Dear Smt Nirmala Sitaraman Madam,

I take the liberty to mention that, as a poor pensioner of SBI, I had already addressed a few letters to you bringing to your notice the plight of not only myself but that of innumerable other old pensioners of SBI who are being systematically and cruelly deprived for decades by SBI of the right amount of monthly pension due to them

Our ancients left us a very valuable principle on which to conduct our lives. That is, “Satyam Vada, Dharmam Chara”. So, I will set out a few truths and request you, as before, to ”Let Truth Triumph” in accordance with our national motto “Satyameva Jayathe”.

The Truth is that I retired in 1994 after more than 37 years of service in SBI, having joined it as an Officer. As a Chief General Manager, I had command over hundreds of officers and other staff. Despite all the name, fame and glamour of my position, the basic pension component in the monthly amount I receive is  meagre and measly and has never been revised since 1994. It is now less than what I have to pay my servant maid !

The Truth is that the small rise in my monthly gross pension amount is due to a half-yearly revision of Dearness Allowance, amounting to less than Rs.500. This amount does not at all neutralise the terrible way in which prices are rising. It is fixed on some arbitrary formula that does grave injustice to us. (When I was in service I used to pay 65 paise for a liter of petrol, now I have to pay Rs.120 per liter).

The Truth is that we the older pensioners of SBI can mention without any shyness or false modesty that we and we alone were responsible for bringing the SBI to its present pre-eminent position. We toiled very hard to go into the field seeking the small industrialist and the small farmer to convince him to obtain bank finance and avoid private finance,in his own interest and that of the economy. We toiled day and night for years in infusing in SBI the ideals of a truly nationalised bank which was brought into being by conversion of the old imperialistic Imperial Bank of India.

The Truth is that on the efficacy of SBI only were some other private sector banks converted into public sector banks later in 1969.

The Truth is that the Reserve Bank of India is not a commercial bank having direct public contact or experience or any risk-taking. All the same, recently its pensioners were granted updation of pension, and the principle of “One Rank, One Pension” is accepted.

The Truth is that the bureaucrats in the Finance Department or other Departments of GoI who assume power over the banking system are not people who grew with the system and gained practical experience, but have learnt the art of dictating terms just through their hat and off-the-cuff reaction. All the same, their own pensions are updated and full DA neutralisation takes place automatically.

The Truth is that if the RBI and the Finance Department bureaurats had given proper advice to our highly respected and sincere PM Shri Modi ji, the demonetisation in 2016 would just have stopped with the abolition of Rs.500 and Rs.1000 notes which were accused of being the means of black money and corruption in India. But, on what principle God knows, new notes of Rs.2000 were introduced and they are playing havoc with the economy, leading to more corruption and black money and the undermining of a free and fair election system which is so essential in a democracy.

The Truth is that despite the PM’s deep anxiety and sincere effort to put the economy on a digital basis for the most part in accordance with modern technological trends, actually CIC (Currency in Circulation) has increased as a percentage of the GDP, instead of going down. To reverse the deterioration and tax evasion, let the GoI  abolish the Big Note and see the rise in most transactions being conducted on a noncash basis. Or, if GoI believes that the Big Note is playing a wonderful role, let them introduce a still Bigger Note (of Rs.10000 or Rs.20000 denomination) and see the economy take a dive into an abyss just in a few months.

The Truth is that you were kind enough to tell the bank managements, more than a year ago, to become kind to their pensioners,.

The Truth is that, nothing, nothing, NOTHING whatever has been done in the past more than one year by IBA to whom your directive was addressed. The IBA is a loose club of banks and, by its own admission, is not a legal entity. It only appointed some Committee to “look into the matter” which is looking into the actuarial calculations as to what happens in pension updation is granted, and so on and so forth, while bank pensioners are dying almost every week one by one. The IBA is looking for a site to dig a well just when the building has caught fire.

The Truth is that SBI is an institution governed by a separate Act and does not bear comparison with other banks which were nationalised subsequently. Its pension fund has enough funds belonging to the pensioners. The pensioners of SBI are unlike the bureaurats to pay whom the GoI taxes people. The RBI too does not earn its income by hard sweat and risk-taking unlike commercial banks who do lending with the funds borrowed from the public and have to pay the depositors whether or not they earn a return on their lendings, and have to pay for bad debts out of their own present or previous profits. All the same, RBI pensioners have been given updation of pension just out of the blue just as the bureaurats also enjoy great pensions.

The Truth is that the Club IBA’s move to club SBI with other banks despite SBI having a robust pension fund balance looks to be a ploy to reject SBI pensioners’ demand for updation of their pension on the ground that if their request is granted, then the pensioners of other PSBs also demand updation despite the possibility of their banks not having enough funds. The IBA has not submitted, even after one year,  a proposal to you the Hon’ble FM of the country so far. Its strategy seems to be to reject the legitimate demand of SBI pensioners on the ground that other banks may not be able to afford updation for their own pensioners. Its intention does not seem to be to recommend updation of SBI pensions and ask other banks to find out their own way of updating their pensions. If IBA thinks SBI is not on a different footing from other banks, then IBA should recommend abolition of SBI Act and bring it on par with other banks. Will it dare to do so? Will it dare to do so in the case of RBI also?

The  Truth is that IBA appears to be in a mood to drive SBI pensioners to the Court. Some SBI pensioners had already gone to the Delhi High Court and their case number is 1875/2013. Despite Supreme Court’s directions to DHC to decide the case in six months, all that the DHC has done is to adjourn the case for more than 10 x 6 times. When the lower Courts themselves disregard the instructions of the Supreme Court, then where does the common man and in particular the poor SBI pensioner go for justice? When the legitimate rights of A are trampled upon by a gangster B and A protests, the reply of B to A in our country is to ask A to go to the Court. B knows that it may take twenty years or more for A to get justice, if at all. It has become a joke to ask people to go to Court if they are harmed. Probably IBA wants SBI pensioners also to try their luck in a Court again. If and when justice comes, there won't be any SBI pensioner alive. Then the problem gets automatically solved and IBA will take the credit for it.

The Truth is that no Truth is self-evident but has to be established by deep investigation of facts and circumstances. In order to reap their own benefits, vested interests set up own stories, which masquerade as truths but are actually fake and false, on way of the real Truth’s journey.

The Truth is that as FM of the country, you have the power to override all impediments and road blocks such as Committees, Sub-committees, Meetings, Reports, Calculations, Formulas, etc etc. SBI pensioners have a clear ground and have the need for an immediate solution for their suffering. On behalf of all SBI pensioners, I beseech you to order immediate updation of pension for SBI pensioners, full neutralisation of the cost of living, enforcement of the “One Rank, One Pension” rule,  and payment of interest for the amount for the period unjustly and cruelly denied to them. You can please also take up the case of PSB pensioners soon thereafter, if need be through IBA, which is struggling for a way out after thoughtlessly combining SBI issue with that of PSBs.

You have been good enough to grant great relief in the case of Family Pensions recently.  Kindly show the same urgency and concern in granting the much-needed relief to SBI pensioners first.

Thanking you and with best wishes, Yours sincerely,

(Dr K Srinivasa Rao)

Dear Nagaraju Kakani Garu,

In my personal view, the concept of Revision of Pension,as and when salary revision takes place to employees at industry level is fully aware to GOI/MOF and IBA.

In Central Govt/State Govt service it is happening for past few years.

They are just pretending as unaware of our genuine issue!

Yes.I too agree, that while briefing to Hon.MPs on our issues to raise  it  in Parliament  or to FM by retirees/organisations correct details has to be submitted.Certainly they may
not be aware of intricacies of our DA related issues.(need not be also)

But hundreds and thousands of letters have gone to FM/MOF etc on our issues, including a letter from our former PM Mr.ManmohanSingh.Though letters may not resolve our issues, it may at least pave way towards it.

While we have to appreciate, the initiative taken by few MPs in presenting our case to FM etc, at the instance of retirees/organisations, care should be taken by retirees /organisations not to include misleading/ unwarranted issues along with such representations to higher up.

For example the recent letter by
Mr.Elangovan.MP to FM happens to include on reported misappropriation of Pension Fund, not based on any fact, which is no way related to updation on pension.

Non resolution of extending 100% DA to pre Nov 2002 retirees
is a major pending issue, which has already been resolved for RBI pensioners, years back.
Pending cases in this regard,  were reported as a reason by IBA, often not to sort out this issue,  which is already  disposed off now.

No doubt ,Pension Updation /Revision cannot be implemented without resolving above DA issue, and hence our focus would be on Revision of Pension while presenting the matter to FM/MOF,which will resolve all our DA related issues too.

In case of improvement in family pension, at last MOF has approved it.

Now as we learn, the ball is in IBAs court.FM/MOF has already stated in parliament on grant of updation of pension too may be granted once a recommendation from IBA  reaches to MOF.

In court case on updation of pension (SLP 5561/2016)time has given and is now posted to 17th Jan 22 for hearing.

Will IBA committee submit it recommendation to MOF by that time is to be seen.

As on date we are still waiting for our legitimate benefits,  due to so many setbacks, negligence, intelligence, ignorance,  of so many care takers and God fathers.
What is harm of informing the present status,  to our MPs who are our part and parcel of our society, representating in parliament. If not,  all the facts readily available at their hands to know, they can also understand the seriousness of the situation with all informations available in the open forum.

Supreme Court judgment has come long back.

RBI has agreed in terms of the directions.

FM & MOF have directed IBA to solve the 20 years pending issue of the retirees, patiently waiting for the settlements.

Bank retirees associations,  are unable to emphasize the directions in between MOF & IBA.

Under these circumstances who has to act upon the issues?.  Nobody considers the issues with due care &  urgency, thereby already surpassed two successful decades.
While the Central Govt. & the State Govts are taking care of their staff,  with all legitimate retirement benefits, why our issues alone are getting delayed like this.

Not to find fault with any person for any reason , but think about the age factors of the retirees , their families living under extreme difficulties. If this is not an urgent matter to finalize immediately,  with all Court directions, MOF & FM orders, RBI directions, etc., to whom we can ask for the results?????

Sir. I am afraid, such motions, starred or un starred official questions may only evoke stock replies that "no proposals have been received". Instead if any MP talks to the FM in the side lines, a better reply can be expected.
PROS of such motions/questiones :  1) The chorus for Bank Updation gets louder.
                                                           2) More MPs taking up our cause through Parliament
adds pressure on the Govt. to speed up the process of                                                                 Updation.
                                                           3) In reply to such Motion/s the minister may give a reply
which may throw some more light (remote ).
CONS : of such motions/questiones :  It may only be a stock reply that " the proposal has not                                                                  yet been received from IBA ". Such reply may only
dampen the sagging spirits of the longing pensioners.
Best course :  The MP s and other dignitaries can write directly to the minister and / or
talk to the minister in the sides of the Parliament.

The strike against merger of banks or privatisation will not succeed. This will delay the updation as FM will look away from the issue.Better retirees should exclude themselves from the issuse of the working staff and officers association by sending letters to FM ..not to lose her sympathy.

Retirees have no concern whether it will be doomsday for BJP in the coming elections or gain. Even Congress also did not solve retirees long pending issues in spite of repeated pleas. Rather UPA Finance Minister P.Chidambaram taking in confidence of AIBEA G.S.C.H.Venkatachalam and CPI leader D.Raja had done immense of harms to the PSU Banks retirees allowing investment of pension funds in the Stock markets. It will be prudent for the retirees to seek intervention of the members of Parliament in retirees updation and other issues.

> As stated in the last budget session, the government intends to privatize 2 PSBs in FY 2021-22, which was later postponed, perhaps due to procedural constraints. If this bill is passed, it will pave the way for privatization of banks. We are of the view that banking, in which the savings of the people are deposited and that which is the national savings, should remain safe and secure and should be used for the economic development of various sectors of the economy. Therefore, the ownership of existing public banks should remain under the control of the government. In our country, there is no restriction for private banks and they occupy about 30% of the banking business. As far as national development plans and accomplishment of social objectives are concerned, we do not get the equal contribution of private banks relative to their business. Their aim is only to make profit, they have nothing to do with social obligations. This is an established truth.
>
> Government/RBI is free to grant more banking licences. Many Payment Banks are already in existence. These can be converted into full fledged Banks.
>
> But, the purpose of privatization of two Public Banks is not understood by the general public. The government followed the consolidation of Public Sector Banks, from 27 to 12. Despite the human problems and issues, the Bank Employees have accepted the consolidation of Public Sector Banks in the interest of the Banks and the Country. The government can also decrease the number of banks from 12 to 8 by consolidating the remaining six Public Banks instead of privatization. As far as the intention of the government to raise funds through disinvestment is concerned, the government can raise a better amount by bringing down its holding in Public Sector Banks below the current level. Public Sector Banks hold an average of about 72% government stake, with enough room to raise more money from disinvestment.
>
> This move of the Government will compress Public Banking. The message of selling PSUs makes the public uncomfortable. With the privatization of Banks, it is natural to create a feeling of insecurity among the deposit holders about their deposits and if the answer is that the such depositors have the option of other Public Banks and if the deposit holders want, they can shift their accounts/ deposits to other Public Banks . If it is an effective option, then why not merge the two public sector banks into another Public Bank? Why to put depositors at trouble? Merger will not be a problem for government.
>
> This is the result of the working style of the Banks' Unions, which has brought the bank workers to the brink of crisis. They failed to prove their worth on numerous occasions. Unrelevant activities of Unions and politicization of movements since last 20 years, ultra compromising approach, scrapping 'unite and fight' principle, compromising against the interests of bank workers, ignoring working conditions, giving unfettered right to management to impose unimpeded work on workforce,  the inability to ensure relative human resources in consonance with business growth and the complete burying of the issues of bank pensioners has exposed the credibility of the Unions and it's leaders. Unions today, do not have the face & courage and the government is well aware that employees and officials consider their leaders to be untrustworthy and corrupt.
>
> This letter is just a preface of great protest movement that we shall release in a couple of days. It's state policy issue, serious in nature. Hence, we should explore all possibilities and avenues to impress upon law makers that passing this bill would prove ruinous to public & public banking interests.

Though I agree with Mr.Shukla that excessive political interference has destroyed the PSU Banks but consolidating the Banks into 5 or 6 Banks would not serve the purpose for which we had struggled for nationalisation of the Banks to cater such vast population of India- thousands of villages, urban and semi urban centres across length and breadth of the country. Problems enlarged since the ministers and ruling party politicians even the Banks Union leaders influenced and dictated granting for thousands of unviable corporate finances to the tune of several lacs of crores of rupees. So long political, ministerial and other vested interests interference will decide the Banks credit disbursement PSU Banks cannot turn around.

Only one demerit in nationalized Banks. Politicization of Bank credit
ghat we see how played havoc with Banks. Govt Ownership this way is a
worst phenomenon than the private ownerships. That's why we demanded
in mid 1980s several things. We wanted consolidation of PSB into 5/6
Banks. We wanted independent Audit like CAG. We demanded Banking
Commissions that implied autonomous functional authority de linked
from govt direct interference.

We wanted stringent recovery law and misuse/diversion of bank credit
as punishable offence.

I may recall your kind attention to first Gyan Sangam held perhaps in
2016 at Pune for 3 days. All PSBs Chiefs, Finance Ministry
bureaucrats, IBA executives, EDs exchanged views for 2 days headed by
then FM Sri Jaitley. On 3rd day Prime Minister also participated and
heard top executives. While speaking PM put a question as yo how govt
can help you for better functions. Executives were hesitant to speak
on this question. PM reiterated and asked them to be frank and tell
how govt can be helpful.

Hesitatingly, executives started putting their views. Almost all said
one common thing that of government interference in administrative
functions of the Banks.

PM made very categorical statement ghat now hence forth, there
wouldn't be a phone from his office. Banks can seek government help
only in resolving any contentious issues. If PMO did not phone, who
else can dare. This way in administrative functions Government
ministers and bureaucrats interference has come to halt.

One more thing this govt made happen that to esteemline appointment of
EDs, MDs, and Directors. But, this is only in Modi Govt. Many legal
teeth were given to Banks and all Bad borrowers are in trouble.

You may see how Unions behaved with earlier Chidambaram etc. Unions
were evasive of all ills. Today they are silent, because they are not
finding any I'll in these areas. Even they are not barking for their
right to nominate workmen and officer directors on board.

They are exposed.

Regards.

If this kind of displacement is an option for the customers, then why not the government instead of selling two banks decide to displace them, that is, merge these banks with other PSBs?

So long opportunist political parties and self interested leaders will rule we cannot expect any good or justice for common people. We have bitter experience of over 60 years of Congress rules without any significant development in the country or any improvement of the poor and common man's lives. While the big business and big industrial houses profits soared many fold. Leaders of the political parties, ministers and trade union leaders amassed thousands of crores of rupees befooling the common men and innocents. Likewise the Banks Union leaders viz. CHV of AIBEA, Soumya Datta of AIBOC and other UFBU leaders also amassed crores of rupees duping their members. Irony is these leaders can never be made accountable nor can be charged for their crimes. Leaders of Award Staff unions get protection under the T.U.act while leaders of officers unions are protected under rules of Associations.Even in some cases leaders of officers Associations were charged for their involvement in wrongdoings but were released due to absence of witnesses and tenable evidences. Even the leaders get protection from the top executives. Of late a dangerous trend is noticed in many banks whenever serious lapses in processing and sanctioning of corporate finances detected leading to the finances turning bad and remain non recovered the sanctioning Executives and officers get protection with transfer to the Banks overseas centres. Such administrative decision of the Banks top executives are also approved by the ruling Govt.authorities. Thus it is proved that the Govt.and political parties only make mockeries of hue and cries with the Banks large volume of non performing assets and are never serious of recovery and remain silent after the leaders receive money from the default borrowers. There is glaring instance of the Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi & Sonia Gandhi raised hue and cries against Ambanis and Adanis but went silent after receipt of hundreds of crores of rupees from Ambanis and Adanis. Govt.is not at all serious in recovering lacs of crores of rupees of NPAs from the Banks defaulters and allowed the Banks to write off and also encouraging more sanction of non viable finances to the unscrupulous corporate borrowers by the Banks. Only we the retirees will continue to suffer and remain deprived from our updation of pension and other legitimate entitlements. Though the Finance Minister made statements with sympathies for the distress of the Bank retirees there is little possibility of the Finance ministry permitting retirees updation of pension and removal of other discriminations. We should remember that the Finance Minister is also a politician and her statement with the Hindu Business Line on 30.10.2010 was not her first statement about concern for Bank retirees but it is also in public domain and known to the retirees that the F.M. had also expressed her concern and had assured solving the Bank retirees updation of pension to M.P. from Bhubaneshwar Mrs.Aparajita Sarangi in 2019 when the F.M.received memorandum from Mrs.Aparajita Sarangi but did not take any action at all even after lapse of more than two years.

Dear Shukla jee,
You have pointed out various points which are really very relevant for all. This is the time when everybody must introspect within himself with true to the basic principles of unions. Officers are not safe, but top management is completely safe irrespective of 80% NPA belongs to Corporate which has been sanctioned by the top management. Most of the write-off has been done in such corporate cases. However, what is the alternative to the present UFBU or AIBEA? That has to be decided and then make a policy and go ahead. Change had never been a easy task but very difficult, courageous with fighting spirit and tireless efforts. How much time, we donot know. Such changes which you think in your mind will not come in a day or two or month. It may take years together so our continuous efforts should be in selection of right executives and tireless efforts. Satyamev Jaytey.

This is a forwarded message from a retirees whatsapp.group. authenticity could not be verified. But the DFS has the power to remove discrimination in payment of full neutralisation of D.A. to the pre Nov.2002 retirees particularly when the Chairman, IBA special committee Mr. Mallikarjuna Rao also expressed his concern for this discrimination with the pre Nov.2002 retirees. I had pleaded with Mr.Rao to recommend for removal of this discrimination without delay pending finalisation of updation by the IBA spl.committee, if necessary even with a rider for adjustment against payments of updation if necessary. Mr. Rao might have considered the request.
Debasish Mukherjee.

Sairam, I need a clarification from our group friends. One of my family friends father was a BOB employee after his death ,his spouse is drawing family pension  and now she is no more since May 2021.
They have un married daughter. Will she be eligible  to family pension now after her mother's demise.
They have requested me to enquire about this as the railways allow this type of family pension.

Dear Debasish Mukherjee:

I have not seen any news regarding this in any of the Federation Groups or from AIBRF.
I am very pessimistic whether IBA will be generous and gracious enough to concede this demand after getting a favourable verdict
from supreme court in their favour.

There is not even a single rejoice letter from any of the blog members.

Please confirm whether the above news is real or fake.

*IN FACT TO EVALUTE THE AUTHENTICITY OF THE INFORMATION , IN THE BACKDROP OF  THE DISCUSSION I HAD WITH SRI DS MURTY GARU AND VENTURE  WITH A SANE MIND ON THE PROBABILITY  FOR REALISING THE DREAM OF THE PENSIONERS ,WE NEED TO HAVE A REALISTIC VIEW OF THE RECENT HAPPENINGS.

 FAVOURABLE DEVELOPMENTS FOR PENSION UPDATION

 1.      HON'BLE FM SMT. NIRMALA SITARAMANJI’S SYMPATHIES AND COMMITMENT TO THE CAUSE OF PENSIONERS. FOLLOWED BY HER REITERATIONS A COUPLE OF TIME BEFOE VARIOUS DELEGATIONS

*2.    CONSTITUTION OF A EIGHT-MEMBER IBA COMMITTEE TO SUBMIT A REPORT ON THE ISSUE BFORE THE END OF THE YEAR AND

IN FACT, THE TERM OF OFFICE OF SRI MALLIKARJUN RAO WHO IS HEADING THE ABOVE TEAM IS FURTHER EXTENDED FROM SEPTEMBER 2021 TO 31st. JANUARY 2022 , DESPITE HIS RETIREMENT AS CEO OF PNB. ( on 17 09 2021 ) EXCLUSIVELY FOR THIS PURPOSE

3 . CONSTITUTION OF PARLIAMENTARY COMMITTEE ON GOVERNMENT ASSURANCES WHO CONDUCTED A  STUDY TOUR JOINTLY WHERE IBA IS ALSO REPRESENTED & PARTICIPATED IN THE DELEBERATIONS  AT BHUBANESHWAR & KOLKOTTA AND SUBMITTED A REPORT

 4.     A RECENT STATEMENT FROM THE NEW CHAIRMAN OF THE IBA SAYING THAT ‘THE PENSION UPDATION  IS A BURNING ISSUE AND WOULD BE FINALISED BY MARCH ‘22 ’

 5.       THE 2 COURT CASES PENDING WITH SUPREME COURT FIXING THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF REPORTS FROM DFS GOI  AND IBA BEFORE 17/01/2022 .

 6.     A PENDING  TABLED CALL ATTENTION MOTION ON THE ISSUE RAISED BY SRI RAVIKUMAR MEMBER OF LOKSABHA  WHICH NEEDS  A STATEMENT BY THE FM DURING THE CURRENT SESSION OF PARLIAMENT. ( AS PER THE BUSINESS RULES OF THE PARLIAMENT )

 7.      THE IMPENDING ELECTIONS TO DIFFERENT STATES TO TAKE PLACE FROM FEB, MARCH ’22 AND

 8.     THE MORE LOGICAL REASON BEHIND THE DEFERRED PRIVATISATION BILL OF  2 PSBS IS NOT THE FEAR OF TRADE  UNIONS  UNREST BUT THE INSISTENCE FROM TAKERS OF THOSE TWO PSBS TO INCLUDE THE FUTURE LIABILITIES ON ACCOUNT OF PENSION REVISION IF ANY TO BE COMPLETELY  REFLECTED IN BOOKS OF ACCOUNTS AND INCLUDED IN THE FINAL FINANCIAL STATEMENTS BEFORE DECIDING ON THE PRICE OF TAKEOVER.

Ie. IT'S A PRE CONDITION PUT FORTH BY THE PROSPECTIVE TAKERS -  THAT ALL THE LIABILITIES ARISING OUT PENSION REVISION SHOULD BE ABSORBED (DEBITED TO THE CURRENT P&L A/Cs AS ON 31 03 2022) BEFORE OFFERING FOR PRIVATISATION ( as per the media reports)

THEREFORE, THE ISSUE OF PRIVATISATION  IS DEFERRED BY THE GOVERNMENT DURING THIS FINANCIAL YEAR.

IN *THE LIGHT OF THE ABOVE DEVELOPMENTS A SUDDEN RUMOUR THAT 100% DA NEUTRALISATION FROM JAN’22 FOR PRE- 2002 RETIREES SEEMS TO BE  HALF BAKED.                           UPDATION IS THE CURRENT BURNING ISSUE FOR ALL THE PRE 11TH BIPARTITE BANK RETIREES AS THE RETIREES COVERED UNDER 11TH BIPARTITE ENJOY UPDATED PENSION.     UPDATION PRESUPPOSES 100% DA NEUTRALISATION .

BUT ALLOWING THAT ONLY TO THE PRE2002 RETIREES WILL LEAVE THE RETIREES DURING THE 8TH , 9TH AND 10TH BIPARTITE  PERIODS UNTOUCHED.                          THE ISSUE TO BE ADDRESSED  IS UPDATION OF PENSION FOR ALL  BANK RETIREES UPTO THE 10 TH BIPARTITE. ON THIS SCORE THE POST SEEMS AN INCOMPLETE…

This is a forwarded message from one retirees whatsapp.group.Authenticity could not be verified but certainly the DFS has such power to remove discriminations particularly when the IBA Special committee Chairman Mr.Mallikarjuna Rao expressed his concern for discrimination with the pre Nov.2002 retirees in payment of full neutralisation of D.A. It is also reliably learnt that the Bank of India retirees Association and another had pleaded with Mr.Mallikarjuna Rao to recommend for restoration of payment of full neutralisation of D.A.to the affected retirees pending finalisation of updation of pension even if necessary with a rider. If that request has been considered favourably?

This is a forwarding message from one retirees whatsapp.page. Authenticity could not be verified. But in my opinion DFS certainly has this power to remove discrimination in payment of full neutralisation of D.A. to the pre Nov.2002 retirees more so when the IBA Special committee Chairman Mr.Mallikarjuna Rao also expressed his concern for discrimination in payment of full neutralisation of D.A. to a section of retirees. It is reliably learnt that a section of Bank of India retirees and another group pleaded with Mr.Rao for recommending restoration for payment of full neutralisation of D.A. to the affected segment without delay pending finalisation of updation of pension and if the committee desires this can be with a rider.

As on date only authentic information regarding our demands is that
IBA/DFS has formed a committee to look into pension scheme and this committee
held separate meetings with workmen and Officers associations.
These associations claimed they have submitted a list of demands/suggestions
and the Committee informed them that they take only views/suggestions.
Further to this  Bank advocates submitted in SC that committee
is yet to submit its report and SC directed that both counsels should
get an update and submit the same to court.
All these are in the public domain.
Apart from this we do not have any authentic information regarding updation.
I do not believe that the Committee Chairman said something to retirees.
They are not allowed to make any statement.
Do we know the terms and scope of the committee? Do they have power
to  make an interim recommendation of 100% DA?
Let us  wait and see in next hearing whether IBA will submit actual status of the
committee report or tell another cock and bull story.
Till then let rumors take rest.
Apart from what is in the public domain everything else is guess work.

see clause 40 of Bank Pension Regulation 1995
it states that
40(a) in case z widow or a widower, upto the date of death or remarriage, whichever is earlier
40(b) in the case of a son or daughter (including widowed/divorced) till he/she attains the age of 25 years or upto the date of his/her marriage or remarriage, whichever is earlier:
provided the family pension payable to sons/daughters(including widowed/divorced) shall be discontinued/not admissible when the eligible son/daughter starts earning a sum in excess of Rs.2550/- per month from employment in govt/private sector/self-employment etc.

Hope it is clear now.

In the first mail, Mr.DM states that "from reliable source", the next day he also writes that "authenticity could not be verified".
A couple of innocent members rejoiced at the first mail.
The next hearing is hardly one month away.
If the rumor mills stop churn for a while, members don't get carried away by the false news.

FP is generally available to spouse only. This is extended to children, in case of demise of the nominee , for those only upto the age of 25 or marriage which ever is earlier.
Recently, the Central Govt has made the FP available to disabled dependent child. The banking industry as is its' wont is yet to take cognisance of this change.

bankpensioner UFBU. TO IBA TO HOLD DISCUSSIONS ON PENDING ISSUES INCLUDING UPDATION OF PENSION
bankpensioner UFBU.
What have they been doing for more than 2  decades? With these pseudo sincere  meretricious melodrama of hypes,
they can't camouflage their crypto  almost silver jubilee era of vested interested motives / agenda of wanton avoidance of pension updation /  DA neutralization for pre 2002  retirees .   It is self evident things are moving forward because of
sincere ,singular, signal suo moto
initiative of the Finance Minister
Mrs. Nirmala Sitaraman.  Panic & consternation have made them feel insecure & fear they may be thrown out like rotten brinjals & vanish into thin air or be lost into eternal oblivion
Let us not be carried away ny such bizarre, bazaar baits, bluffs, braggadocios & gimmicks.

Mr. Sarangapani Sir is absolutely correct in his observations as regards 100℅ NEUTRALISATION to pre 2002 retirees against the  crooked crocodile tear shedding pseudo unions and the defective ,detrimental stand as always taken by IBA and the Bank Managements Combine.

I salute the great Debashish Mukerjeedha for his incredible approach for resolving the issues with forthright views on the subject for resolution.

I also pray 🙏🙏🙏 for the wisdom to dawn into the heads of the committee members to resolve the DA anomaly to pre 2002 retirees, first, under which, I am also an innocent  ( like many others )victim.

First remove the tapering DA structure, which played havoc in the lives of the retirees for the past more than 2 decades.

Let our fight be on.

There are specific rules and procedures in the matter of Questions raised by members of Parlament and Answers given by Concerned Ministers on such questions.

Starting with  preliminary scrutiny of questions received in Secretariat, a ballot is held to determine the priority for starred and unstarred questions.

In the case of starred question, in which a member desire an oral answer from Minister
such ministers prior consent is also required.

Then it will be examined further to find out same are admissible or not. There are restrictions on number of words in questions. In the case of short notice questions concerned minister's time and consent to be sought.

There are restrictions tom members on number of questions to be asked on a day.
15 days notice time is also required to raise a question.

So it cannot be expected that all questions of our M.P's  may be allowed or answered in parliament .
