Whatever action programme implemented, the final result should be resolution of Bank retirees issues, more particularly updation of pension.

Dharnas should be conducted at UFBU office also.

Recently AIBOA elected its office bearers through E VOTING akin to EVMs  and AIBEA issued circular objecting to this, saying voting voting should have been done through ballot paper same as the stand of opposition parties in India.
AIBEA advised its members not to recognize office bearers election conducted by AIBOA.
In turn AIBOA on 22.05.2023 warned AIBEA  that AIBOA is an independent organization and not to interfere in its internal affairs.
unions are fighting themselves and not interested in reminding IBA to schedule a meeting to discuss residual issues .

The Dharna and demonstration programme held in Bangalore on 25th May was attended by hundreds of retirees. It was an impressive gathering and the great enthusiasm shown by the retirees who were mostly septuagenerians and perhaps a few octogenerians rightly deserve praise. This is part of the series of agitational programmes initiated by the AIBPARC. This agitational programme will be held in all state capitals and will conclude within 15th June. Let us appreciate and encourage the agitating retirees instead of casting aspertions and ridicule.

Retiree associations should accept the fact that there is no provision for updation in Pension regulations and presenting arguments in court depending on Small committee resolutions is time consuming and if the time final verdict comes after a few years may not help pre 2002 pensioners who are aged above 70.
Updation is purely an internal issue and should be settled within the banking Industry between IBA and UFBU. Retirees associations should conduct dharna before UFBU offices and also before IBA offices in Mumbai/Delhi and  force UFBU to take up the issue with IBA seriously .
Retiree associations should conduct Dharna before Regional/head offices of Banks and submit memorandum to MDs. who really matters and not MPs.
Any Dharna outside the Banking industry is just a get together party and will have no effect on IBA/DFS/UFBU.

There was no provision for updation of pension for govt retirees also.Still they got it.Case of rbi is not different either. Now why you are saying that provision for updation is not available in agreements and regulations? All of us are equally or more knowledgeable and if you have any current news, please share them with us.

Well said, and this is what is required at present.

There were Dharnas earlier, representations through
many sources to the authorities, but nothing came of
those and the position is the same as years roll by.
Why they are unable to understand these?

I have in my previous mail said that absence of provision for updation in Pension regulations, Reg 35/1, small committee resolutions matters only in court  and are irrelevant for IBA and UFBU to discuss the issue and resolve it.
But one cannot understand why Unions are silent even though 3 months have lapsed since the 28th Feb meeting when AIBEA suggested IBA to come out with cost details.
