Indian Railway in collaboration with Google is now providing a 10 digit mobile number. Just SMS your PNR number on this mobile number and instantaneously you will get your ticket's current status along with all other journey related details. The number is 97733-00000 . NO need to prefix 0 or +91. Best of all, you don't pay a premium charge for any of this, just the price of a standard SMS. PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO STORE THE NUMBER IN YOUR MOBILE PHONE.   WHY NOT SHARE THIS INFO WITH YOUR FRIENDS

Thank you Jayakrishna for info. Many persons are depending on Cyber Cafes to check their PNR status who charge Min Rs.10 per enquiry.

This will save money for travellers.

Dear Mr.,Jaya Krishnan,                                                                                                                                                                                  when, as per your mail,  I sent SMS  PNR (NO) TO 97733-00000 FOR PNR STATUS of my ticket the reply sms I got is "To search for person on Person Finder, reply with 'Search (name)'.  For ex 'search ajit'.  For more details on Person Finder please visit http://goo.gl/p55ErY"  and SMS charges of Rs.1.50 was charged.   Have you tried before sending this mail to the group members? Please verify and clarify if sms to be sent in any different way..i have sent as  'PNR (MY PNR NO.).

Dear Sri.Nageswara Rao,

                       

                                         At present  Indian Railway gives different ways to check your PNR status of booked tickets.

01. Through your land phone: Dial 139 and by entering your  10 digit railway PNR number you can get the latest PNR status of your ticket.

(Even to know the platform number of specific train)

02.Through Mobile Phone:If  BSNL  SMS to  139 you will get the current status.Most other service providers are also extending this option on specific  numbers given.

Also please note that SMS services may attract  charges.

02. Through Indian Railway Web site:  :http://www.indianrail.gov.in/pnr_Enq.html

a)You can enter your PNR number into this page and know the PNR status. 

b)At the IRCTC website go to booked tickets- if you have booked online- and select the ticket to check the PNR status.

03.Still there are other sites gives this  facility.You can choose any

of the above as per your convenience.
