Any Bank started sending letters to its 2 nd Option Pension
Optees ,intimating the details of PF to be paid by the employee and
the commutation amount to be paid by the bank and the balance to be
refunded by the employee after netting etc.

Indian Bank, is the first bank to send such letters to all the optees.

Few Banks have already sent the letters to retirees with details such
as Bank's portion PF on date of retirement ,56% amount so as to get
the details of amount to be refunded by retirees. and few others gave
Approximate amount of Pension and amount of Commutation etc.Indian
overseas bank has published the amount of PF & 56 % on their website
against individual retireees names.

| Indian Bank has fully displayed the PF optees eligibe for second option and the monthly pension eligible for them along with pension arrears and repayment amount etc,.in the banks internal website and during the course of receving of option, they have displayed the date of receipt of pension option and the date of receipt of application. Out of 2660 persons eligible for second option so for 1324 had exercised their option. A good job by INDIAN BANK which has to be thanked. This is being done inspite of staff shortage at H.O. it is learnt. Other banks having more staff can do a better job. |

Dear sirs,
in the IOB list there is one column with total amount to be refunded and another column with total pention benefits. does anyone have an idea, if this means, total amount to be refunded initially and the pention benefits will be delivered later by the bank or net amount only to be refunded.

Hi Mr. Rao,
I think there is error in calculation of pension arrears especially for all those who retired after April 2010. I believe pension is calculated from Nov 2009 for all those retirees irrespective of their actual date of retirement. For example. a person who retired in Aug 2010, gets Rs.287,302/- pension arrears (roll 4962). Is that the right way? I am of the view that person should get pension from the date of retirement or from Nov 2009 whichever is later.
Since it is beneficial to the employee, we may keep it that way :) I may be wrong in my logic!!

That amount of pension you have mentioned , if correct, works out to about
more than 30000/- p.m! May be it is inclusive of commuation also. Please
check up again. Or may be it is typographical error.

| they have arriaved at net amount payable after adjusting comutation. i am retired bank employee not from IOB. My brother an IOBian got the letter. even in that case there wont b anything payable by the employee since the arears of pensio will be adjustable and he will recive pension without any out go of funds now. Dear Veeraswami Venkatraman I also have received the letter from IOB. They have given the amount receivable and payable but nothing about netting. So full amout 156% to be paid first and then only will receive the amount from Bank.

Uco Bank has clearly spelt out in their Pension Option Circular dt.
20.8.2010, that:-
Netting of proceeds of commutation as against refundable amount, in

The last date for submitting option letters for UCO Bank retirees is 18.10
.10, to the branch where one desires to obtain pension.

Within 7days after 18.10.10 the branches have to forward all the option letters to respective Zonal Offices. Meanwhile you can undergo medical examination if commutation is required and submit the same to the branch. For forms pl see UCO Bank website.

Dear Pensioners
Many bank have issued letter to VRS retirees including my State Bank of Mysore. The amt refunded is 156% of PF. That is right. Please whether notional 5 years has been added to calculate Pension. In state bank of mysore VRS Retirees are not eligible for addition of 5 yrs. to calculate Pension which effects the amount of commutation.
Pension Calculation formula
Last 10 months average salary/2xNo. of years of services(+5)/33
But in State Bank of mysore +5 years is not added VRS Retirees. What about other Bank VRS Retirees? Please clarify.

I am also a retired employee of Syndicate Bank and have taken
retirement under SVRS-2001.
I have received the calculation of PF refund from HO but so far not
received the commutation form and medical examination form.
Please let me know that you have received the same from HO and at what
date you have submitted the option form so as to ascertain the
expected time gap to receive the medical exam for and commutation
form.
