List of Holiday homes for retired staff of Andhra Bank

The list of holiday homes and the procedure for availing

the facility  is furnished here under for the benefit  of

retired staff of Andhra Bank.

Holiday homes are available at 1)Banglore  2) Bhubaneswar

3) Chennai  4) Gangtok  5) Goa  6) Haridwar  7)  Manali

8) Mysore  9) New Delhi  10)  Ooty  11)  Shirdi  12) Tirupati

13) Tirumala  14) Varanasi.

All employees (including retired employees) of the bank, who are proceeding on holiday or leave, can avail the Holiday Home facility with normal rate at 14 centres stated above.

At present the tariff for the room is Rs.10/- per day in case of Officer staff

and Rs.5/- in case of award staff.

The maximum stay allowed is 4 days only.    However, it is resrticted to a maximum of 3 days with regard to stay at centres like Banglore, Chennai, Mysore, Shirdi,  and Varanasi.

Employees desirous of availing the facility are required to send an application  through branch/office to Staff welfare Dept; Head Office for allotment of room.

Any cancellations should be intimated at least 2 days prior to the date for which  the reservation is booked.    Penalty of Rs.200/- will be imposed for non utilization/non intimation of cancellation of holiday home.

VRS opted employees are also eligible for applying for holiday homes.
You can view the list of centres with addresses in "mini telephone directory" of andhra bank.

Dear Rajasekar Venkatesanji,

Staff went on voluntary retirement are also eligible for availing the

facility of  Holiday Home.

You can pay  the tariff basing on the  days of your stay,  at your pension paying branch

of Andhra Bank and a certificate to that effect will be recorded on the application and  forwarded to

Head office for their consideration and sanction.

If you see canara bank website there is a PDF docuemnt which clearly states that all those who went on VRS are eligible for holiday home.

Holiday home facility is available to VRS/SVRS retirees in Canara Bank. In fact Canara bank VRS/SVRS Retirees are enjoying other benefits like Identity card, medical benefits of Rs2500/- etc as available to super-annuation retirees thanks to the efforts put in by AICBRF. Canara Bank is one among the few banks which has constituted Grievance Cell for retirees. From this year Canara bank has allowed an additional Rs1000/- pm for pre-1986 retirees and Rs1500/-pm for widows of pre-1986 retirees from staff welfare fund. The bank is in the process of implementing group insurance scheme for retirees.

Fortunately, it is not so. Even SVRS people can avail HH facilities in CANARA Bank. However there is ridiculous way of allotting rooms, in order of preference. Serving employees going on LFC get first preference, followed by normal and VRS retirees and finally SVRS people. It should have been based on demands. By adopting the preferential treatment the SVRS retirees do not at all get rooms. Even I suggested to earmark one or two rooms for  the retirees exclusively, which can be given to others when there is no demand. However there are no takers!

So far as my knowledge goes in Canara Bank the retired employees can book Holiday Home only 15 days in advance and for working employees they can book 2 months in advance. Therefore effectively the  retirees will never be able to get holiday homes for their stay. The  policy  has to be changed just like as in Andhra Bank  make booking uniform for all.

The benefits available to Canara Bank retirees is given in "BANK'S COMPENDIUM ON RETIREMENT BENEFITS" which is available in AICBRF website www.aicbrf.in . As per rules 

"Retired employees can book holiday home one month

in advance in prescribed format through the pension

account". The list of HH are given.

But the point is  that  there should not be any discrimination between serving employees and retired employees for booking Holiday Homes of the Bank.

This has to be taken up in the grievence cell meeting or else there should be reservation of rooms say 20% exclusively for retired employees..
