AIBEA CC MEET held at Indore,on 28th and 29th Sept 22.

Updation of Pension:

 "He informed that having regard to the additional cost

of pension pay out and additional funding cost, Unions have informed the IBA to workout a roadmap for updation of pension to all pensioners and in the meantime the case of pensioners belonging to 5th, 6th and 7th BPS period may be taken up first to begin with. We have also asked the IBA to work out the additional cost each settlement-wise so that a negotiated decision can be taken."

IBA will take another 10 years to calculate the updation cost of 5th, 6th and 7th BPS settlement. Without arriving at any formula how can they calculate cost. Either they may have already worked out scheme or are just dragging the issue.

Please do not feel like that.

They may plan to give some sort of increase

and that too for earlier retirees, as they started

telling now. 

But nothing less than the RBI pensioners' 

updation should be our demand. For having

struggled this long and getting a pittance

is horror.

Why do the unions want to know the cost of pension for updation of PENSION. Whether the unions are going to provide funds for updation.

As you have mentioned at the end, it is all

dragging the matter forever and that this the

ploy of these people. Other wise why should

they raise the point of calculation, actuarial

report etc. again and again?

All the time they are deliberately dragging the issue.

 Negotiation and compromise/surrendering.

As an ordinary pensioner  I think the process of negotiation means UFBU should discuss Updation among their units to arrive at a consensus on formula. Present their case before IBA strongly and consistently without bothering about cost. Because of strong demand from Unions IBA is forced to consider demand and will come up with cost details and will  negotiate with Unions  and an agreement is reached. If IBA is adamant UFBU can take a delegation to FM exclusively for updation issue and discuss the issue. then they may resort to agitation etc to achieve demand. If Unions strongly demand for RBI formula or nothing else at least we may get next nest option after negotiation.

Even before negotiation and without any clarity on updation formulas/options and its cost, if Unions say updation cost is not feasible it is compromising or surrendering. Then IBA will offer the lowest option possible.

Even if RBI formula is implemented,we get Pension less than that of a school teacher.

IBA and UFBU must introspect properly.
