My Dear Friends,

FRATERNAL SUPPORT FROM ALL INDIA RESERVE BANK RETIRED EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION

It’s indeed a heartening to note that  All India Reserve Bank Retired Employees Association, Mumbai  has extended its FRATERNAL SUPPORT for our cause.

In fact, AIRBREA have been the sole “TORCH BEARERS” to restore the most coveted PENSION UPDATION in the Reserve Bank of  India after a sustained struggle both organizationally as also on legal front simultaneously WITH THE TOTAL SUPPORT OF ALL  THEIR WORKING UNIONS!!

Unmindful of  little support from our working unions, Some of our committed comrades have been  EFFECTIVELY  FIGHTING  to clinch Pension Updation in our PS Banks that culminated into the most effective intervention at very appropriate time by Smt. Nirmla Sitharaman ji, our Hon’ble Finance Minister which you all quite aware of…

I profusely thank the leadership of AIRBREA who addressed a letter to the Hon’ble Finance Minister echoing their voice on our behalf.

Copy of their  letter dated 11th. Novemebr 2020 addressed to the Hon’ble FM for your information. Contents are self-explict:

With Greetings & Regards,

Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman Hon’ble Finance Minister,

The Ministry of Finance Govt. Of India

New Delhi

Respected  Madam,

Banking Pensioners -Your assurance

We are extremely happy for your open assurances of OROP to the pensioners of the Banking Industry. We have seen in Business Line as also on Video - WhatsApp, you giving message to the entire nation as not to forget bankers, post-retirement and they and their family be treated well like that in the Defence Services.

No Finance Ministers in the past have ever shown so much concern to Banking Industry pensioners. This has given very strong message not only to the entire nation but also to the entire hierarchy in the Ministry of Finance.

At this juncture when you are shaping the things with humane approach, we submit our following suggestions for your kind considerations.

You may kindly direct all Public Sector Under Takings including banking and financial sectors and officials of Ministry of Finance that while consideration of pension issues they have to necessarily follow,

1.      The Articles 14, 16(1), 21 and 300 A of the Constitution of India &

2.      The Supreme Court Verdicts, finally resting with Civil Appeal No. 10857 of 2016 in the matter of Pensioners of State of Manipur.

This would drastically reduce Government’s legal expenditure on all avoidable court cases pending in High Courts and the Supreme Court.

Incidentally, we may state that all Central Pay Commissions have kept in view above two cardinal guiding factors while making recommendations and they have proved time and again, including in the Supreme Court, that they are correct as per the law of the land.. We, therefore, urge upon you to direct all as per above suggestions and establish rule of law in the national interest.

With respectful regards Yours faithfully

General Secretary

Sub: bankpensioner Improvement in Pension in Banks - Prayer and request

The prayer and request by AIRBEA is a wise, welcome move and the
suggestions with regard to the funds are in right earnest.

It is pertinent at this moment to draw the attention of the authorities the
plea by the Gen.Secy, of  AIRBREA to FM on her assurance on our
issues and suggested two points for the need to follow the rules  as
per the Acts.

It is hoped that those closely following up the matter would take care
in this regard.  The said letter of the GS of AIRBREA,which was shared
in our blog is attached for reference.
