A Milestone for the "Grassroots": Our Evidence in the Supreme Court.

As we approach the crucial hearing on May 6th, I want to share a significant development. Many of us know that CA 7993/2023 (M.C. Singla) is our flagship battle for pension updation. For us pre-2002 retirees, this isn't just a legal case; it is the (last) "bus" we cannot afford to miss.
Thanks to the mathematical observation made by our fellow member, Shri K.N. Ramani, we isolated a "Loading Factor" in Appendix-I that serves as a hidden updation component.
Though we felt it was late in the day, we communicated. After our detailed technical briefings on April 25th, we received confirmation from the Advocate-on-Record (AOR), Shri Sewa Ram, on May 1st, in reply to our April 30th reminder. His words were definitive: "We have already worked on the same and have filed the computation before the Supreme Court."
It is a rare and deeply rewarding thing to see a grassroots effort — born in a Google Group, built on the painstaking analysis of a fellow pensioner — reach the halls of the Supreme Court and receive direct acknowledgement from the Advocate on Record.
We were happy that we didn't just remain a silent observer and Mr. Ramani’s evidence has now been validated by the legal team itself.
Wishing the legal team, Shri Sewa Ram ji, and all the petitioners the very best for the next hearing. May the Hon'ble Supreme Court's wisdom bring long overdue justice to the retired bank employee community.
Whatever the final outcome, we can all look back with the profound satisfaction of knowing we did everything within our means for ourselves and for lakhs of our fellow pensioners.

"OMG, I was so slow to catch that! Fingers crossed the 'Vijay' wave hits our Court No. 2 next. He’s fighting the numbers game in the Assembly, and we’re fighting the dates in Court. If he pulls off the Government formation (which he will), I’m sure we’ll finally get our relief (which we will)!"
