He said the  conciliation meeting is posted to  Friday.

Mr Venkatachalam requested all its units and members to go ahead with the agitation programme.

The bank unions have been demanding five-day banking, updation of pension, residual issues, scrap NPS, immediate starting of negotiation on charter of demands for wage revision and adequate recrutment all caders.

Extremely sorry to say/write this. We have long ago lost the bargaining power and who is responsible for this. Leadership or the members !!??. No meaning of participating in Negotiations/Conciliation meetings. Time for thinking of alternative methods to get the benefits/rights as enjoyed by the employees/retirees of the Union Government. Many would have died without seeing the Pension Updation/Revision.

IBA is ridiculous in requesting UFBU for discussions across the table to avert the strike, where as the fact is that they just ignored in the past two letters from UFBU asking for discussions across the table.

UFBU had served strike notice on 12th Jan 2023. IBA had enough time to consult all parties and come prepared to the meeting on 24th and should have given some definite replies.
The attitude of IBA indicates there is no possibility of resolution of Updation in near future.
