    TO ALL DEAR GROUP MEMBERS,

I AM S.S.R.Murthy, (canara bank) svrs 2000 pension optee, from HYDERABAD..
though shri Venugopalan has taken sincere pains in spending a lot, his urge to reimburse to him  or to his account now is highly deplorable. the reasons are as follows.

   (1) there is a concerted emails in these columns since a month ,  .... so and so shri venugopalan has fought personally and has sent cirtculars and incurred a lot and HE IS THE MAIN RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS SECOND OPTION.
pOINT 1 : NONE HAS ASKED HIM TO SPEND FROM HIS POCKET.
POINT 2:  HOW HE GETS CREDIT FOR THIS SECOND OPTION. SO MANY LEADERS AND UNACKNOWLEDGED BANKMEN FOUGHT FOR THIS SECOD OPTION. I SERIOUSLY OBJECT THE STYLE OF SHRI VENUGOPALAN FOR TAKING ALL THE CREDIT TO HIM.

POINT 3:  I GOT NO OBJECTION IF ANYONE CONCURS WITH SHRI VENUGOPALAN
AND REIMBURSES TO HIM AS A HUMANITARIAN GESTURE, IT IS DIFFERENT MATTEER.
BUT THE SO CALLED /MENTIONED LOUD BURST OF SHRI VENUGOPALAN  after this AGREEMENT FOR SECOND OPTION OF PENSION nOW,THAT HE IS SOLE REASON FOR GETTING THIS SECOND OPTION OF PENSION IS HIGHLY OBJECTIONABLE. I PHOO PHOO THIS LOUD BURST.
ONLY COLLECTIVE APPROACH IS LAUDABLE IN MONEY MATTERS. IF A PERSON SPENDS BY GOING TO COURT OR OTHER MEANS, IT IS CALLED HIS PERSONAL SACRIFICE.

SO ALL BANK EMPLOYEES, OFFICERS IN SERVICE OR RETIRED, IT IS LEFT TO YOUR WISDOM.

        YOURS SINCERELY,

       S. S.R. MURTHY  (Mr. SINGAMPALLI SRI RAMA MURTHY)

Dear Srirama Murthy,

People differ ideologically from one another.  For beating up one's mother too there will be two or more different opinions.  Among us  are the descendants of Judas and Godsey.   Those who feel that there is no point in what I said, there is no compulsion or prodding to make any contribution.  It is absolutely left to the choice of any one.  While embarking upon the project, I have taken care to see that no one is put to any monetary loss for an uncertain item.   I did not say that  Srirama Murthy or any other person who feels that he has not requested or authorised me to go on with it, it will be a shame for me to take any recognition or reward for the work.  But there are people who know the background  that it is not of a windfall nature  and are offering to compensate. After all, money is nothing, it may come and go.  It is all at the WILL OF THE SUPREME POWER.    We can not predict whether one will be benefited or not  by joining the scheme too.  If it is HIS Will that ONE SHOULD LIVE LONG AND LIVE COMFORTABLY, then only one will be able to have a benefit.     So many people have realised and expressed their sentiments that I have taken too much pains pains  and have volunteered to co-operate and participate.       May God Bless all.

Thanks and Regards,

VENUGOPAL

Just like this - Your unstinted patience has really helped the entire banking fraternity -
My concern and observation is   the so called leaders / top comrades of all the unions, instead of admitting their grave mistakes and misdeeds will make a  beeline to take credit once some +ve abt pension comes out they will come to the forefront to take credit and all honours in the end.
Sir, this is INDIA.

i had participated in bank workers struggle to get pension as third benefit as available in sbi at leadership level whilst at ernakulam.i realised we were cheated.i preferred to be with common members' sentiments so far as plight of workers were concerned.  now i realise your correct stand on second option on pension.i am happy that you could pioneer a correct common cause. now all unionists have  forgotten right of workers to bonus termed by the highest court as deferred wages.  let us contribute our mite towards betterment.i assure of my help in this regard.

dear venuji,

your action tantamount to trade union fight as against the traders' union fight the so called unionists are doing.

the basic question we have to address is the stress and strain with which our work force is working for their bread and the mechanism by which they are looted their legitimate share

of sweat.

IT IS ALRIGHT.  IF U UNDERSTAND THINGS IN PROPER PERSPECTIVE, IT IS OK WITH ME.

HAVE PATIENCE.  IF ALL UNIONS ARE REALLY UNITED IN THEIR OBJECTIVE TO ACHIEVE ONE MORE OPTION FOR PENSION AND ARE PRACTRICAL AS TO THE COST, PENSION OPTION CAN BE ACHIEVED.  I HOPE ATLEAST THIS TIME, AGAIN THERE WILL BE NO CAMPAIGN THAT PF IS BETTER AND NOT PENSION.

I AM ALWAYS OPTIMISTIC THINGS WILL HAPPEN.

EVEN WHEN STRIKE CLAUSE WAS ADDED IN THE REGULATIONS IN 1995, MORE THAN 50% EMPLOYEES CONTINUED IN PENSIOIN BECAUSE THEDY HAD FAITH IN THE UNION THAT UNION WILL TAKE CARE OF THEM.  FOR YOUR INFORMATION, SUBSTAFF AND PART TIME SWEEPERS HAD OPTED FOR POENSION IN LARGE NUMBERS THAN THE SO CALLED INTELLIGENT OTHERS.  IT ONLY SHOWS THAT BASIC FAITH IN THE UNION WILL TAKE CARE OF MEMBERS.  PENSION IS A CLASSIC EXAMPLE WHERE PEOPLE WHO THOUGHT THAT THEIR WISDOM IS MORE THAN THE UNION'S WISDOM ARE FACING PROBLEM.  HOPE IT IS LESSON FOR EVERYONE.

UNION IS RIGHT. UNION IS MIGHT.  THOSE WHO DID NOT LISTEN TO UNION ARE IN PLIGHT.  BUT WE WILL FIGHT AND MAKE OUR FUTURE BRIGHT.

Seen all your enclosed mails. All these issues are industry level issues for which some discussions are on with unions/assns. You will have to wait for the outcome.

Subject: REG ONE MORE OPTION FOR PF OPTEES

Dear Mr Venu

Following is the text of AIBEA circular

Pension Option:

On the issue of another option for existing PF Optees to join the Pension Scheme, after a lot of discussion, IBA offered to take a share of Rs.3500 crores out of the total deficit of Rs. 6000 crores, as per the report of thepanel of common actuaries. UFBU offered to share Rs. 1500 crores and the remaining Rs. 4500 crores, to be borne by the banks put together. IBA further proposed that the new entrants in the banks are to the covered by a new pension scheme based on defined contribution. UFBU expressed its apprehensions and disapproval of this proposal of the IBA. It was decided to discuss the issue further with a view to find an early and amicable solution to the issue.

To Group Members.

There are some people who very well knew the role I played in the matter of second option on Pension.  When what they considered   as impossible in 2001 and much after that  finally came to know that it has happened started telling that they are put to much loss for gaining Pension as CPF and 56 percent of it had to be refunded .  They were calling me and telling their grievance as if I was responsible for it.  I had to tell them that there is absolutely no compulsion and that they need not join, if they perceive any loss or want of benefit by joining the scheme.
