Dear Sir,
The issue of pension option to bank employees having served for 10 years and above and below 20 years was taken up by the EX- MP of Rajya-Sabha .
The reply given by the authority on 30/10/2024 is reproduced here below for information in the matter.
“Further,
the subjected matter was taken up with the IBA which has informed that
Regulation 28 to 33 of BEPR, 1995 deals with various classes of pension
admissible to the Bank Employees. Regulation 28 (Superannuation Pension),
Regulation 30 (Invalid Pension), Regulation 31(Compassionate Allowance),
Regulation 32 (Premature Retirement Pension) and Regulation 33 (Compulsory
Retirement Pension) relates to the employee exiting from the service due to
superannuation or the bank exiting the services of the employee in its interest
and only under Regulation 29 (Pension on Voluntary Retirement) employee opts to
leave the bank by serving due notice, in which the qualifying service of 20
years has been stipulated for an employee to become eligible for pension.
Accordingly, Banks have considered 20 years as the qualifying service for the
resigned ex-employees / ex-officers”.
It will be of great help to have your views to support the claim of these employees.
Thanks & Regards
