Dear Prasad,
Congrats Mr.Prasad for your untiring efforts and enlightened directions and comments on various issues afflicting the retired bankers. It is in the fitness of things that you have chosen to lead the retirees association in Karnataka. I hope the issues involved in the present judgement relates to the denial of the addition of five years of service. I have visited all bankingsolutions .com to get the details of the appeals but it appears there is some problem and the site is not returning the wanted details
Anyting else other than the addition of 5yrs is at stake Mr.Prasad?

Whether the subject dismissal of writ appeals by H'ble Karnataka High
Court has any impact /reflection on writ petitions already filed by
retirees (VRS normal/ CRS etc) for extension of pension to them also.
Further, let me know the developments of the writ petitions filed by
various groups in Karnataka high court as well as other high courts.
Whether the conference at Colcutta took up the issue of denial of
pension option to VRS (normal) / CRS etc., since I could not find any
mention of it in the gist of circular narrating about the proceedings/
resolutions etc.

Dear friends,I am extremely happy to inform you that all the Writ Appeals filed by 6 Banks are dismissed by Karnataka High Court Division Bench. In respect of our Bank, State Bank of Mysore, Hon’ble Court has also imposed the cost of Rs.10,000/- per person on the Bank for having filed Writ Appeal despite not amending Pension Regulations. With this, we are elated because, sanctity of Pension Regulations have been restored.
One correction. I am fortunate to be elected as Organising Secretary of AIBRF. State Unit in Karnataka has not yet been formed. Thanks, a Million.
With regards,

Dear Mr. Prasad,
Hearty Congratulations and best wishes. I think every group member must also be appreciating Mr. Perumal, who has very rightly underlined the words of Mr. Rangarajan for your great efforts.
It is little difficult for me to understand your view point that even if banks prefer to go to Supreme Court on some pretext, we will get our arrears with interest for the delayed period. How this can be possible?
Honorable Supreme Court, after clubbing Sixteen Civil Appeals with numbers 1942 to 1957 of year 2009, arising out of various S.L.P.’s, gave the historic judgment on 27th March 2009 regarding notional benefit of five years of service in favor of VRS optees. Para 55 of Court Order (copy of Judgment attached) disallowed interest on unpaid pension keeping in mind the fact that various High Court Judgments were not unanimous.
In my opinion, arrears with interest can only be possible in case Karnataka High Court specifically make a mention of it, in its verdict.
Warm regards

Dear Perumal,
Thank u very much for taking individual efforts in replying to every mail and clear the doubts of the group members. I have come across some basic questions being asked by the group. I hope these questions consume a lot of your time and energy. Instead of replying to individual queries you may summarize the class of persons affected by this judgement and the extent and send the same to the group. The year of taking vrs/superannuation also plays a part. For instance the five years benefit have been extended by many banks and the present judgement may not affect them. I hope the persons who have already reached the maximum of the scale at the time of vrs /superannuation may also not be affected since 50% of basic pay may remain the same had they remained in the scale for one year if my understanding is right. I hope my suggestion will spare much time for other good work being done by you. Please continue the herculean efforts being made by you to go through the voluminous documents like judgements and details and implications of the writ appeals. Thank u once again
