Dear Members,
I looked into the details of the "Teachers" case to understand exactly what is holding up our matter on the cause list.
The case involves allegations of a widespread "cash-for-jobs" scam during the 2016 recruitment of approximately 42,500 primary teachers in West Bengal. The Supreme Court is currently tasked with the monumental challenge of separating "fraudulent" candidates from "genuine" ones—a process that involves scrutinizing thousands of OMR sheets and complex recruitment data.
Why it is dragging: Because the livelihoods of thousands of families and the stability of the state's education system are at stake, therefore, the Bench (Justices Nath and Mehta) is proceeding with extreme caution. They are giving all parties—the State, the Board, and the aggrieved teachers—a very long leash for arguments to ensure total fairness.
While the wait is frustrating, it confirms the Bench is thorough. Hopefully, when the "Teachers" finally exit the courtroom, the Bank Retirees can take the floor!
The wait continues, but we remain next in line.
Regards,
Sanjay J.

Yes. As I have mentioned earlier summer vacation of supreme court  (rebranded as "Partial Court Working Days")  commence from 1st June'26 to end on 12th July'26.

During this month too only one week day is left  after 13th May'26 for any further listing since 27th May too is a holiday for supreme court.

Probably our  case may prolong  beyond July 12th.

The teachers case has been listed in Court 2 for hearing at 12.30 pm today. This is as per order of the Court that the arguments will have to be wound up today in 15 minutes. Teachers will not come in the way of pensioners.

It is therefore expected that Singla's petition will be heard on Wednesday 13th May 2026 at 2 pm.

Sir,

Justice to teachers case taken prior to ours and rendering justice to them is O. K. But the time taken to render justice should not defer the justice to us for an indefinite period of time!

Ramakrishnan.

It is common. The judicial proceedings takes it's own time.
Adjournments are not a bad news.
The Courts are functioning under sevear pressure.
Let us wait with patience.
The supreme court bench has to deliver the judgement.

Sir,

I agree that the courts are always under pressure (who creates/ created it, we are aware!)

There is also an another word " Humanitarian Approach" Which should also work along with the age of a case, who are the beneficiaries ( if any!), in deciding priority rather than other ( unimportant and today received / filed) cases, mostly politics related!

It is heartening that gentlemen like Mr.Venugopalan are at our side and in or favour!
