LETTER No. UFBU/2021/15                                              Date: 23.12.2021

To

Chairman,

Indian Banks’ Association

Mumbai

Dear Sir,

Undue delay in resolving pending issues

You are aware that at the time of finalising and signing the 11th Bipartite Wage Settlement/Joint Note on Officers Wage Revision on 11-11-2021, it was agreed to continue the discussions on the remaining important unresolved and residual issues with a view to find amicable solutions to the same.

Thereafter, on 10-12-2020 and 04-01-2021, discussions were held and minutes on the residual issues were signed with the Workmen Unions and Officers Associations.  It was agreed therein to further continue the discussions in order to resolve the same.

You are aware that there are very important residual issues like 5 Day Banking, updation of pension, revision in Ex-Gratia pension for Pre-1986 retirees, brining all pensioners under the common Index of 6352 points, other pension related issues, reduction in premium of Medical insurance Policy for retirees, revised norms for allocation to Staff Welfare Scheme, improvement in Conveyance Allowance for employees with physical disabilities, uniform business hours, FAQ/ clarifications on issues referred to IBA by Banks on implementation of wage revision settlement, etc.

You are further aware that on the issue of updation of pension, preliminary talks were held on 22-07-2021 wherein it was agreed to further hold discussion to take the issue forward.

But we regret that no discussions have been held by the Indian Banks’ Association on any of the above issues which gives the impression that IBA is not serious about the issues and is deliberately delaying the resolution of the issues.

The issue was discussed in our recent meeting of the UFBU and this continued avoidance of discussions was viewed seriously by our constituent unions.  Hence it was decided to take up the matter with you for taking expeditious measures to continue the discussions and to resolve the issues without any further delay.

Since all these issues are very important affecting the interest of employees, officers and retirees, there is growing resentment over the delay and unless immediate steps are taken in this regard, we are afraid, it may lead to UFBU deciding on agitational actions.

Hence, we urge upon you to intervene in the matter and do the needful to urgently call for discussions on these issues.

Thanking you,

                                                                                         Yours comradely,

                                                                                           SANJEEV K BANDLISH

                                                                                            Convenor.

What have they been doing for more 2 decades? With these pseudo sincere  meretricious melodrama of hypes,
they can't camouflage their crypto  almost silver jubilee vested interested motives / agenda of wanton avoidance of pension updation /  DA neutralization for pre 2002  retirees .   It is self evident things are moving forward because of
sincere ,singular, signal suo moto
initiative of the Finance Minister
Mrs. Nirmala Sitaraman.  Panic & consternation have made them feel insecure & fear they may be thrown out like rotten brinjals & vanish into thin air or be lost ino
eterna oblivion.
Let us not be carried away ny such bizarre, bazaar baits, bluffs & gimmicks.

The settlement date is mentioned as 11 11 2021 instead of 11 11 2020.
May be a small error. But shows how casually things are taken.

Through an oversight Mr Sanjeev Bandlish has written the date of signing of 11th BP settlement as 11th November 2021 . It should have been 11th November 2020 instead

All crocodile tears! When a solution to the pension  updation problem is likely to happen  they join the bandwagon to corner the glory.  Retirees may be  a helpless lot but they can see through the callousness of the trade unions. God save employees from the clutches of these toothless tigers.

Yes.They are not serious,as we observe.

UFBU has stated in the above  letter, that, after holding preliminary talks on 22-07-2021 with IBA on issues including pension updation, further discussion was not held after  lapse of 5 months!

UFBU blame IBA for not continuing discussions on any of the issues, and state that;

"IBA is not serious about the issues and is deliberately delaying the resolution of the issues."

If IBA is delaying the matter,as they have stated, UFBU could have taken up the issues seriously by reminding   IBA to hold meeting early. That too has not happened so far.

Another point is:When pension updation is done, naturally CPI 6352 points have to be merged with Basic Pension of all pensioners,in uniform, as in the case of serving employees, and why another separate  demand for merger of CPI 6352 points as a different point?

Unless official communication comes from MOF or IBA on status of updation of pension, we cannot confirm anything further.

We can only hope for best.
