Good decision by the Management of BOB. Other Banks should also show the magnanimity and help the Retirees as per their financial position .Earlier BOI was having a very good scheme for it's retirees but perhaps nobody talks about it now-a-days.If it is implemented then many retirees are't required to pay any sum from their own pocket towards Medical insurance

Canara Bank used to sanction Rs.2500/- every year to retirees during July-Aug. But this year no such announcement made so far. Since last one year Grievance Cell Meeting also not conducted.

It is informed that previously the holiday home expenses were debited to General Charges account and from this it is being debited to Staff Welfare Expenses. Hence there is no chance of getting any amount this year for medical expenses in Canarabank.

However there is another news that Rs.2500 will be disbursed as usual and circular is expected anytime.

We do not know which is correct as it is a top secret, until disclosed!

i feel sorry that i failed to high light the great humanitarian consideration for the retired officers/award staff in our bank, federal bank in respect of medicare.they had made arrangements with united insurance co.to cover the hospitalisation expenses up to Rs.3lacs for the retireesand spouses.the premiums were high around Rs.15000/ and the management met 70% of the premium and the balance was to be paid by the retirees.now when the new scheme as per the bipartite settlement came to effect, the management extended the same 70% concession and the retiree need to pay only the balance amount of Rs.2248/.this benevolent attitude of the management induced the  neighbouring  south indian bank to offer the same benefit to their retirees.

Shri G Sekhar, you have called for Shri Bellur's attention. He was the one who declared that the govt has accepted the recommendations of IBA to grant 100%DA to pre 2002 RETIREES, last year itself. But nothing happened afterwards.

Again he was the one who interpreted(or mis) the Rajasthan High Court judgement as one relating to LIC pensioners, which we came to know later  that some lecturers have got the judgement in their favour.

Notwithstanding to the above he can do a lot for the retirees in his capacity. Unfortunately nothing fruitful had happened to us.
