Dear Sir,

We take the privilege of quoting Mr.Kofi Annan who said ‘Knowledge is power. Information is liberating. Education is the premise of progress, in every society, in every family’.  Now, we are talking about the families of former Bankers.  We have retirees, pensioners, resignees, ex-employees, etc. amongst us.

Pension Settlement was signed on 29.10.1993, which made former Bank Employees think about formation of Banks’ Retirees’ organisation/s.  Bank wise and also Apex Organisations have also been formed.  Voluntary Retirement Scheme in 2000-2001, Judgment of Hon’ble Supreme Court in Mohandas’s case in 2009 and Second Pension option extended in 2010 are major events which acted as catalyst in Bank Retirees’ movement.  Updation of pension took front seat after the second pension option and galvanization of the movement was triggered by revision of pension in Reserve Bank of India in 2019.  The focal point of most of the agitation by former Bankmen is Pension Revision.  Pension Revision is the need of the hour and should take place bringing justice to those who have sacrificed their sweat and blood.  Bank Retirees’ organisations, activists, crusaders, leaders, etc. are in the forefront of the movement.  Absolutely, there is nothing wrong in focusing on Bank Pension Revision. We need to fully understand the challenges before us in respect of Pension Revision.  We need to discuss this issue of pension revision objectively and finalise strategies to achieve.

Having said that, we feel that the focus of Banks’ Retirees’ movement should not get restricted to any one issue or we should not compartmentalize or serialize.   Focus should not be restricted.  There are many who are entitled to pension, but it is not being paid.  There are many more such issues and benefits. We should also focus on them.    We should also be spending our time purposefully and pragmatically.  There is also no quarrel when we say that our primary objective is to enhance the life of former Bankers and their families.  We find that there is an urgent need to understand our entitlement and analyse.  We must list our entitlement and the basis.  Then only we can create a blueprint.

In order to achieve our goals, there is a need to create a platform to understand, discuss, debate and decide our goals and the path to achieve them.  As a first little step in that direction, we are organising a Workshop on 28th and 29th March, 2026 at Bengaluru.   The objective of the workshop is to equip the participants with full knowledge and information to present the views and facts which cannot be refuted, earn respect of those who decide these issues, by providing them true, verifiable, relevant and authentic information.  We should help them to decide in our favour. This is because we are fully aware that we need to convince the decision makers, which is more difficult instead of convincing the beneficiaries, which is very easy.

The leaders and leadership with full knowledge and information is the need of the hour.  Sharing of knowledge and information logically and practically, makes the organisation stronger.  Knowledgeable leaders earn respect of the membership.  Knowledge, which is complete, helps in resolving the issues.

We request you to participate and advise all leaders of your organisation to participate in this workshop to be held on 28.03.2026 and 29.03.2026 at Bengaluru.  Your organisation would benefit immensely, if leaders of your organisation participate on behalf of your organisation.  We would like to remind you that this program is the first of its kind in the Banking Industry, perhaps first in the Country.  This also helps the congregation of all leaders who are really interested in the welfare of their members.  Such a congregation would sit and decide the agenda of the Bank Retirees movement in the Country.  We request you and leaders of your organisation to participate in this never before program.  We shall all join together in making the life of former Bankers better and richer.  We also request you to participate and share loads of what you have earned  out of your experience and knowledge.  Help enrichment of all.

We request you to kindly remit Rs.1,000/- per participant before 28.02.2026.  This participation fee is towards Breakfast and lunch on both days and loads of material.  We look forward to your participation along with other leaders of your organisation.  We are confident that you are with us in this endeavour.

We request you to kindly confirm your participation, to enable us to not only make arrangements, but also to share full information regarding this Workshop. Please join this program along with your friends in large numbers.  This would go a long way in enhancing the life of Bank Pensioners.

Thanking you,

With regards,

C N Prasad
