Dear Friends,

I had posted copies of 12th BPS/9th Joint Note dt 8.3.24 for information of all which give full details on calculation of Ex gratia to pensioners.

Just for an understanding on the subject,  I am attaching an illustration here below.

Basic Pension ( incl commuted portion) plus DR (100%) as on 31.10.22,is multiplied by factors provided for each settlement period,may give Ex-gratia figure.

I refer to the illustrations. 100 DR is said to be taken. Do the settlement provide for this. My BAsic is 8013 (7th BPS).  Pre 2002 retiree under SVRS. What would be the ex gratia .

Dear Mohan Sir, while giving example of how much Ex-gratia will be paid, you have taken 100 %DA while arriving Ex-gratia.But as of October 22 DA was fractured one and not 100% DA . Please guide us whether notional 100 %da to be taken while arriving Ex-gratia from October 22.

 Mr mohanji,

In the above chart for pre Nov 2022 retirees the notional DR of 100% calculated and exgratia

was arrived on it.But actual DR we got was tapered DR in Oct,2022.Pl.clarify,whether we are eligible for exgratia on actual DR +basic or on notioal basic of 100% and basic as per the agreement.

It is only mentioned in settlement as follows: ' Ex gratia amount payable shall be the Basic pension attracting DA/DR + DA/DR paid for October, 2022 multiplied by the Factor as provided in the above Table after round up/down. To round up / down to the nearest 100, (i.e. 49 and below shall be round down to lower hundred and 50 and above shall round up to higher hundred)'Actual amount only and no minimum or maximum

Revised DR with new series to pre 1.11.22 retirees,   comes under residual issues and may take some more time to take effect.

You may arrive Your Ex gratia by taking actual DR as on Oct 22.ie: Tapered one instead of  100% percent DR allowed last year.

I have followed one illustration provided by one of the Unions,where full DR is shown( available under the forum)
May be error.

Actual DR of Oct 22 has to be taken to arrive Ex gratia.ie.Tapered DR.

One calculator available under this forum, has shown, 100% DR, and hence I have shown so. It is an error.

One of the calculators under this forum from one of the unions shown 100%DR in cases of pre 2002

pensioners,  and I have shown so.Note that same is showing error.
As per settlement basic pension plus  Oct 22 DR to be taken to arrive Ex gratia with multiplying factors.ie.Taoered DR.

Yes the merger is applicable to those who retired after 01/11/2022. For others no change.

Further Shri Mohan has taken notional 100%DA in his calculation. It is not there in the settlement.

However AIBEA example has been worked out that way with 100 per cent DA for pre-2002 retirees

Your Basic for the month of Oct/22 was 8013. DA would have been 24301 and total = 32314 x 0.12 = 3878 rounded to 3800 is the exgratia.

Your illustration indicates that 100%DA neutralisation has been considered for pre 1.11.2002 retirees.

However, canara Bank illustration has perhaps considered slab wise DA for pre 1.11.2002 retirees.

Please clarify.

In all fairness, the pre-Oct.2002 retirees, who were deprived of 100% beautralization for over two decades now notional 100% d.a.should have been added to arrive at ex-gratia to be paid.

 It should not be too late to amend this factor and accord a relatively a better ex-gratia to the pre-2002 retirees even now.

AIBEA 1)illustration and 2)Calculater has taken 100% DR for pre 2002 retirees, in above application, to arrive Ex gratia, for pensioners.I have already posted details of the same separately.

Under this backdrop, the same needs clarification now.

Is it an indication to allow full DR to 

pre 2002 pensioners?That way it is good.

Rounded in 00's

₹3900.

I have taken 100% in chart, based  on one of the unions illustration as I have mentioned.

In the calculationof ex gratia for Pre 2002 retirees,AiBEA in their chart has given 100% DR whereas in others calculation,tapered DR is taken into account.Therefore AIBEA is requested to clarfy in this matter.Awaiting reply from them.

AIBEA in it example, has taken DA component as on 31/10/2023. That is a mistake. It should take DA as on 31/10/2022. to arrive at rx-gratia for pre-2002 retirees.
