In 2020, in the months of March and October, my both the eyes had Cataract operations. I got benefit under our Medical Insurance scheme and I had to pay only Rs. 8000/= per eye. Still, I would like to tell you that to avail cash-less facility ,please ensure that the hospital is in the approved list of the insurer.

Cataract is allowed with a cap of around 40k, But Dental is not allowed from this year except for dental treatment arising out of accidents.

Latest details of cap on claim for cataract surgery under IBA- National Insurance Policy is not available with me.

As per previous IBA- UIICO policy limit per cataract  surgery was restricted to "actual expenses or 25% of policy amount whichever is less'

Cost of Cataract operation is reimbursable. Please clause 3.3 of (attached) policy wording. There is no such cap but the amount should be reasonable.

It is per annum cap. If you do two eyes - normally not being done - reimbursement will be restricted to 40k roughly.

Are you sure UIIC policy limit for Cataract surgery was actual expenses or 25% of policy limit whichever is less? Was it in IBA GHI of UIIC covered the Bank employees & retirees till 2018 or other than GHI scheme? Since as per my record even the UIIC policy under IBA GHI limit for Cataract surgery was also around Rs.35000=00 for surgery of each eye. After going through other PSU insurers health insurance policy I find limit of Cataract surgery per eye is more or less similar amount around Rs.35000=00 for each eye.
