I think, what has been mentioned under item no. 5 refers to the Old Pension Scheme (as per BEPR 1995)wound up on 31/3/2010 and New Pension Scheme (introduced with effect from 1/4/2010) respectively.
When the OPS is no more in vogue (and only a demand has been made that it should replace the NPS) where is the question of giving an option to those under NPS to join OPS.
Or, is there any proposal in the offing to run both the schemes concurrently?
I doubt very much if anyone would opt to continue under NPS which is less beneficial than OPS.
Will someone clarify please?
