Unsubscribing from membership, receiving of group email, linking / creation of google profie

Dear all,
                    There are frequent requests from members for unsubscribing their names from group membership, as number of daily messages posted on group site has been increased. Members are not interested in all messages. Still they are receiving emails of all messages. These emails are unnecessarily occupy space in the in box of email and members have to undertake task of removing these messages. 
               Recently google has come up with new interface for google groups. Members can convinienty view the messages on group site itself. Members can set option for receiving email in digest format or abridged emails. They can choose not to receive email or to receive email for every message. These options can be set by members themselves, without referring to the moderator. Also members can leave the group without referring to moderator.
              In the new interface members can link their google profile to their membership. If a member is having photo on google profile his photo will be displayed on  the top of the message he has posted. He can choose a nickname for the group purpose. Those members who are not having google profile can create their google profile which will be linked to the group. Members can give their personal information in the profile which will be accessible to other members. Members are requested to give their bank name, retirement type, date, present location, hobbies/interest and other relevant information. (In old version of google group their was facility to create profile, which is discontinued now)

     After going to this site click on the tab  "My Membership" to edit your member ship details. You can choose options as per your convenience  and save the same by clicking on the "Update Settings" Tab. Hope that this facility will be availed by all members.

                You have to sign in with your email id . Then only "My Membership" tab will be visible to you.
