The City fans who travelled down the coast to Connahs Quay Nomads last Friday were more than happy with the performance put on by the City players. On what must be the worst playing surface in the league, City played some very exciting football and the 3-1 score line could have easily been 6 or 7. We are now fourth in the league, only five points behind leaders Rhyl so plenty to play for. As Nev stated last week, teams come to Farrar Road and play for the draw which for us paying supporters can be so frustrating. However it is comforting to know that teams do fear our City side which is gelling nicely and are committed to the cause. We need to keep showing our great support at home games and keep the attendances rising steadily. A big crowd not only lifts the City players but also creates a great atmosphere at the ground. It’s great to see so many Children getting the Bangor Bug and attending City games. Why not bring your Child to the next game and bump the gates up.

A week later we beat Carmarthen 2-0 at home and things get better and better. We now sit in fourth place with just 3 points between us and top placed Rhyl. We have plenty to shout for this season and maybe, just maybe this season, our last at Farrar Road could well belong to us !!.

Now it’s time for Connahs Quay Nomads again in the Welsh Cup this Saturday. Let’s make a big effort to attend Farrar Road for this the first of another run of wins up to the Final !

As part of the Clubs

Farewell to Farrar Road celebrations we are staging a Kids get in for FREE game against Welshpool on the 15th of November. We are hoping that by encouraging the local youngsters to attend Farrar Road for the FREE entry game will turn them into lifelong diehards. The kids are the future of BCFC and we need to recognise this and make sure that we have many generations of Citizens to follow the Blue Army in years to come.

As an extra incentive for youngsters to turn up we are hoping to do a prize draw where all kids who attend will be entered FREE of charge providing they hand in their cut out token which will be displayed in the Bangor and Anglesey Mail prior to the game. Unfortunately we have been unsuccessful in attracting a sponsor for this draw to purchase games and toys despite our best efforts.

Can you help?. We are asking the kind supporters of Bangor City if they could assist us with the draw following not being able to attracting a sponsor. We are attempting to collect enough donations of new toys and games to go ahead with the draw. Toys and games of any value or size would be so gratefully accepted. What is important is that we get enough prizes to do the draw and put smiles on the faces of the lucky Children.

If you can help and would like to donate a prize then please call Nigel Pickavance on 07944694801 who could collect donations if required. Donations can also be dropped off at the Golf Cymru Shop at the top end of the High St or at next few home games including this Saturdays Welsh Cup game against Connahs Quay Nomads. Please help us make the day a special occasion for the kids by donating a prize.

Whether we stage the draw or not we are hoping that all parents will support this event by bringing their Children along to Farrar Road for this promotion. Further information and confirmation of the draw will be made nearer to the time.

When your Child or Children become grown parents themselves and are asked by their own kids

Whats your first memory of Farrar Road when it was a Football Stadium and not a shopping precinct?. Let them reply by saying I was part of the Farewell to Farrar Road celebrations and attended the Kids get in for FREE event and have been a die hard ever since!

Pin Badge and Calendar

As part of the farewell to Farrar Road celebrations the Association will soon be selling a one off lapel badge as well as our 2009 calendar which will feature photo’s of some of the most important games ever played at Farrar Road. Do you have an old photo of Farrar Road or an important event which has taken place there that you would like to have included in the calendar?. If you have then please ring Ian Thomas on 07840318399 for details. We plan to sell other memorabilia over the season so look out for details in the local press soon.

BCFCSA memberships are now being collected. Renewal forms have been sent to members so please show us your support by renewing yours. Non members can join by filling out an application form online at our website www.bcfcsa.com.

We certainly have a busy term ahead of us and to be honest we could do with a lot more supporters coming on board to help with fundraising ect. Every hour of help is appreciated and I urge all supporters to consider helping a little for the good of the Club. Why not come along to one of our meetings?. They are held in the Club boardroom every first Thursday of the month, subject to change. The meetings are fun and non formal. All members are made to feel welcomed.

We have meetings at the boardroom on the 1st Thursday of every Month, . Please make an effort to attend.

Keep The Faith !
