I have to start this report by thanking Neville Powell and his players for the pleasure they gave us travelling supporters in Porthmadog last Saturday. A 6-0 thrashing of Porthmadog which could easily have been 10 was a joy to witness. Bangor totally dominated the whole game, they played breathtaking Football and it was impossible to chose a man of the match as they were all equally brilliant.

Now to this Saturday and our home game against Haverfordwest. The question is, How are we going to match the 959 attendance of our first game of the Season?. It is pleasing to see the team meet our expectations, giving a hundred percent commitment and effort on the pitch. That is all we ask for in return for our entry fee and that alone should generate a thousand supporters regularly for home games.

It was great seeing so many new faces at the Llanelli game. Hopefully with a winning side the new faces will keep coming to fortress Farrar. Neville Powell has often commented that a large Bangor crowd is like having a twelfth player, it creates a great atmosphere and generates much needed funds for the Club.

So let’s do our best to near if not better the 959 attendance this Saturday. Let’s get behind the Nevillution, bring all your family and friends and be part of this very special last season at Fortress Farrar. The Club needs you !.

The last Stand

To make our last ever game at our grand old stadium special we need to start planning now. Let’s leave Fortress Farrar with a bang and make it a day for everyone to remember. One thing for certain is that there will be many a tear fall when that ref’s whistle blows for the very last time.

One supporter suggested that we make the last game an all ticket affair and try target a 2500 attendance, which is realistic in my opinion. Another suggested that we purchase a Club mascot ready for the move to Nantporth.

We need your input. If you have an idea for the last ever game at Farrar Road to help make it a special occasion then please get in touch.

An evening with

The Association are pleased to announce the line up for our next An evening with event. The speakers for the 26th of September event will be ex Wales, Liverpool, Chelsea and Wrexham forward Joey Jones. He will be accompanied by the 1960’s Bangor City hero midfielder George McGowan.

This promises to be a very popular event and supporters are advised to purchase their tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Tickets cost £25 a head which includes a three course meal. Friend Of Bangor City

The friends of Bangor City scheme has kicked off a total success with over a hundred shops agreeing to display match day posters for the Club in their windows. Around the ground you may see notice boards displaying the names of these shops. The next time you visit one of these outlets just mention that you seen their name in the programme or on display at the ground.
