At 2:30 this Saturday afternoon, the next generation of Bangor city fans will hopefully take advantage of the associations “kids in for free” promotion which has been sponsored by Bangor roofing. the association are expecting a bumper crowd this weekend against Welshpool and not only do children under the age of 16 gain free entry but they’ll also be entered into a free draw to be in with a chance of winning one of many prises including the star prize a Nintendo Wii. Association volunteers will be handing out buckets of free sweets to the children.

There’s also an incentive for the parents to turn up as well. As a one off the association has decided to change the format of their match day raffle. For this one game the funds raised from the raffle will be split 50/50 between the association and one very lucky winner. With the promotion being family orientated we are pleased to welcome To Farrar Road the WRC (white ribbon campaign). The uk branch are part of the global campaign

of men working to end men's violence against women. It relies on volunteer support and financial contributions from individuals and organizations.

This Saturday promises to be a very special day in the history of this grand old stadium. Come on, be part of this historical day where we citizens introduce our home to our children, its just one day in our lives where we can come together as one and make a difference, and fill the stadium with smiling kids who will remember the 15th of Novermber 2008 for the rest of their lives.

We do urge all supporters to arrive early for the game to avoid congestion outside the ground. Most children should have already received their free entry tickets via the letter box or handed out at school . Please find attached to this column a cut out token. however should a family or an adult responsible for a group of children need more tickets then they will be available at the game. The association committee and members would like to thank local business Bangor Roofing for making this promotion possible.

If all the above weren’t enough reason to persuade you to attend this Saturday’s game, then why not come along because for the first time since the day of Nigel Adkins we process a team capable of winning the Welsh premier league. Every one of our players know that nothing more than 100% commitment and effort is good enough for us City faithful, hence our great position in the league. There is now a belief in the stands and on the terraces that this could well be our season. The attendances are increasing as Neville Powell’s team keeps winning. However it could be a lot better and so I urge all City supporters to attend Saturday’s match and get behind the cause for the rest of the season.

Please support the effort of the association volunteers by becoming a member your self. Application forms will be handed out at the game on Saturday or alternatively forms can be filled out on line at our web site

www.bsfcsa.com

See you all at Saturday’s game at Farrar road. Until then, keep the faith !

Last Thursday, following the Bangor and Anglesey mail’s report on the future of Farrar road being in limbo this subject of debate was placed high on our agenda at our last meeting and the new club commercial/financial manager Wendy Evans attended and confirmed that she was this week attending meetings with both the city’s council and developers Morbain to discuss the situation with Farrar road and the lack of information coming from both parties.

In my next column I shall be reporting back on the kids in for free promotion, confirming the winner of the 5k sponsored run and any available club news.
