BCFCSA PRESS SECRETARY

The Bangor City Football Club Supporters Association are ready for a new term of fundraising to assist Nevill Powell and the Club next Season. We donated over £13000 to the Club last term and had 453 members.

This term the Association are hoping to reach 500 members, Raise at least the same funds as last term and to attract a lot more fundraisers to assist us this term. If you can help with fundraising then please get in touch or attend one of our meetings which we hold on the first Thursday of every month at the Boardroom, starting at 19:30.

The Brian Pritchard Charity Event

The Bangor City FC Supporters' Association is pleased to announce that together with Maesglas Sports Centre and Bangor and Anglesey Cancer Research, we are organising a charity Fun Day.

As well as the Adult Football Sevens, there will be coaching sessions for children, a fun aerobics event, soccer skills challenge (crossbar challenge, corner flag challenge, penalty shootout), some fund-raining stalls, Tombola, Plant Stall, Cake Stall, raffle, plus much more.

It should be a great day out for all the family, so be there!

If you can help organise the event, help on the day, have items you can donate for the raffle etc, then please ring 07810433812.

The event is being run in memory of the late BCFCSA Life Member and Bangor City die hard Mr Brian Pritchard (pictured). The Association are pleased to help a local charity again having already organised a Santa run in aid of the British Heart Foundation.

The event starts at 10:00 am on the 17th August and runs until approximately 17:00. There is something for everyone so please make an effort to attend and have some fun.

Application forms for our Adults Football tournament are now available and teams interested in entering a team should apply as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. For a form please ring 07810433812.

 

SPONSORED FOR THE TERM

The BCFCSA are proud to announce that they have received sponsorship from a kid hearted local Businessman. Patrick Barry (pictured) owner of the popular Patrick’s Bar in upper Bangor has kindly sponsored the Association for £3000 for the 2008-09 term.

Nigel Pickavance BCFCSA Press Secretary explained that the BCFCSA Committee are delighted that Paddy has agreed to sponsor the Association this term for £3000 which will be donated in instalments. Since the BCFCSA were set up paddy has regularly donated funds to assist us run events including our kids Football Tournaments and Evening with John Toshack event.

Paddy is delighted with being the BCFCSA Main sponsor and explained that his decision was made following attending a meeting and learning of the hard work the BCFCSA Committee and it’s members do to raise funds for the Football Club. He said it was a privilege to be the main sponsor and urged other businesspeople in the City to get involved with the Football Club and Association to take the famous Club to the next level.

BCFCSA ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

On the 10th July the BCFCSA held their Annual General Meeting. Association Chairman thanked the Committee and Members for their continued effort raising funds for the Club. Over £13,000 was donated to the Club this term. At the meeting the Committee for the 2008-09 term was set up and the officers were elected and are as follows-

BCFC v EVERTON FC

Bangor City Football Club have announced that they will play an Everton Football Club 11 in a friendly at Farrar Road on the 6th August kick off 7pm. There will be a blend of youth and experience in the Everton side but however they will surely provide the Bangor team with a tough test.

The Football Club would like to thank Emyr Davies electrics 327 High Street and Golf Cymru 73 High Street who both assisted the Club by selling tickets for the home European tie at the racecourse.
