Dear Sir/ Madam
Would it be possible to include the following in the next edition please.
Many Thanks
Nigel Pickavance
BCFCSA Press Secretary
What a superb effort it was by the Bangor faithful at last Saturday’s home game against full time Llanelli. 959 supporters attended the match which was the biggest gate of the day nearly doubling Rhyl’s home fixture against Newtown. Pleading for 1500 to attend the game last week was a lot to ask for but getting just under 1000 is a great achievement and gives us something to now build on. It was particularly pleasing to see so many families at the game and despite the result many commented that they had a great time and are sure to come back for the next home game. The Football Club would like to thank the Bangor Samba Band and the City Blues Cheerleaders for their pre match entertainment which created a good atmosphere at the ground.
It’s the next home game that we now must concentrate on. We play Haverfordwest on the 30th August at fortress Farrar. Let’s show the whole of the Welsh Premier that the Llanelli attendance was no fluke. It would be great to see 1000 regularly at Farrar Road this season, especially with it being our last ever season at the famous old stadium. With that I ask you to once again show that famous Bangor support and turn up in your droves for this game. Bring a friend, Bring the whole family, spread the word. The Club needs you !.
Finally, Please remember that the new term is now upon us and we are collecting BCFCSA membership renewals. Members will soon receive their renewal Application forms in the post. Non members can join by various means including via our great website
www.bcfcsa.com or by filling out a form at matches.BCFCSA Shorts
As you may be aware the Association finance’s the BCFC Reserves. The reserves were promoted last season at the first time of asking and the future young stars of Bangor City play very attractive Football. They play their games at Farrar Road and are well worth watching. Why not pop down to their next home game on the 26th August against Mynydd Llandygai and see for yourself the City’s future stars.
The BCFCSA would like to thank all those supporters who gave donations towards paying off the fine imposed upon the Club following the incidents at the Welsh Cup Final.
The 2008 CITY SEVENS Tournament was a huge success with 12 teams taking part. The winners were Collwm Athletic who beat City Sevens 1-0 in the final. Pictured are the both teams who were presented medals by Hilary and Lesley Pritchard wife and son of the late City die hard and Association life Member Brian Pritchard.
Hillary and volunteers held a fun day to raise funds for Cancer Research in memory of Brian. The Association would like to thank Tony Walsh, Iona of Maes Glas and all the other volunteers who helped make the day a total success.
A big thank you to all the 95 shops who have agreed to place posters in their windows advertising BCFC matches. In return the Association will provide some free advertising in selected home Match Day Programmes.
BCFCSA member Claire Moss raised over £200 for the Association by doing a sponsored silence at the Llanelli game. The Association would like to thank Claire (pictured) for her efforts.
See you all at the Haverfordwest game, Keep the faith !
