This is a wake up call to all those who are acively involved in doing
stuff for Bangor. We need someone to grab this city by its ears and
give it a good shaking. There is absolutely NOTHING going on in this
city of ours. I thought that this website would wake people up, But
no, all we see is the same old apathy we've always had. Bangor will
get what it deserves if we are not careful. I have not seen one
councillor shouting his mouth off about the city, not one Gwynedd
Officer telling us something worthwhile and no one in Bangor sticks up
for our rights and is willing to fight for more.
While other towns seem to thrive (Look at Llandudno) all we do is moan
about how ugly the new Wellfield is.

We now have a platform to spring on and I for one would like to see
this website develop as much as Caernarfon's has and more to the point
I want to see Bangor get things not lose things.
Well? What do you lot out there think?

I agree with you 100 %. Bangor seem to get shafted by Gwynedd time and time
again but the City council in my opinion aren't as tough as it should be in
response.

As much as i despise Watkin Jones company for their lack of work involving
the new ground for BCFC i do take my hat off to them for their vision and
construction of buildings in the city.

We need a lot more investment in the City and the councilors should be more
with the times rather than turning down every planning permission under the
sun

What the hell is happening with the new complex planned for Farrar Road and
Llandygai Ind Est ?Let me guess.Gwynedd says building cant start because
Frogs are breeding on the sites ???

It's about time that the City councillors stood up and take note of how far
Llandudno have come in the last 5 years. You seen their new swimming pool?.
Sate of art or what with a wave design !. Look at ours . Total DUMP. Mould
grtowing in the changing room, roof tiles hanging down paddling pool only
used by dogs these days and many other faults. Get Gwynedd to knock the
place down and build a new one from scratch, We pay enough TAX to cover the
cost.

Whilst your at it, anty chance of a few flowers on our roundabouts like they
have in Caenarfon , Gwynedd council's little baby town !!!!!!!!!!!

As for the new Football Ground at Nantporth !If that was CTFC it would have
been built 5 years ago. Time and time again we have this issue or that issue
which continue to slow the process of building it down time and time again.

5 years ago GWYNEDD COUNCIL should have listened to the people they serve
(BANGOR) and not the millionaires accross the straights when planning was
submitted for a top state of the art stadium with 3000 seats. It's because
of Gwynedd Council's lack of vision or anti Bangor status that we now have a
600 seater planned. This is a BIG kick in the teeth not just for the people
of Bangor but North wales as a whole. All because Gwynedd were influenced by
ANGLESEY council !!!!

THIS MAKES ME SICK

Disgrunteld

hi
I agree Bangor does need a big wake up call.  There is NOTHING going on in Bangor, for the young ones, teenagers, middleaged and mature people.  It all goes on in the outlying areas and Caernarfon.  The City Councillors hands are tied, and that is what a lot of people do not realise.  If we want things to happen in Bangor, form a group and give Gwynedd County Council what for.  They hold the purse strings.  Look at the social housing for the local people in Bangor.  How many Bangor people are being rehoused?????? or given social housing very few.  Absent landlords buy houses to let to students.  The students seem to get everything, but the locals do not.
I am on certain committees so know a little of what goes on in Gwynedd, and Bangor is losing out big time, and not through local people not trying.  Its just that some of us who have a loud voice are not listened to.  So come on you lot out there do something before Bangor dies on its feet.

We need to watch where we are going her. Bangor is NOT hard done by.
Gwynedd Council has to take care of every town in the county and let's
face it we have the best shopping centre in the county bar none.
Watkin Jones seem to think that the city is worth investing in and
that is a good sign. We also have an incredible University and even
though people complain about small shops closing down, this is not a
local issue this is a national probem.
The age of the small shop certainly seems to be numbered and with such
things as internet shopping even the big guns are up against it.
So, as I've said don't let's slate this beautiful city, let's embrace
it and work on all thats good.
Passing the buck over to Gwynedd is the easy option, let's first of
all get going at grass roots and have the city council working
harder, once this is achieved then we can take it to the next level.
There, I feel better all ready.
