Dear Sir/Madam

Would it be possible to add the following in the next issue.

Kind Regards

The City fans who travelled down the coast to Connahs Quay Nomads last Friday were more than happy with the performance put on by the City players. On what must be the worst playing surface in the league, City played some very exciting football and the 3-1 score line could have easily been 6 or 7. We are now fourth in the league, only five points behind leaders Rhyl so plenty to play for. As Nev stated last week, teams come to Farrar Road and play for the draw which for us paying supporters can be so frustrating. However it is comforting to know that teams do fear our City side which is gelling nicely and are committed to the cause. We need to keep showing our great support at home games and keep the attendances rising steadily. A big crowd not only lifts the City players but also creates a great atmosphere at the ground. It’s great to see so many Children getting the Bangor Bug and attending City games. Why not bring your Child to the next game and bump the gates up.

I am pleased to announce that the Football Club has agreed to stage a ‘ Kid’s in for FREE match’. It will take place on the 15th of November when we play Welshpool at home. Today’s youth are the future of the Club and we need to teach them of our fine history for our reputation as the best supported Club in the league to remain for generations to come, In particular with our move away to Nantporth and the leaving of the historical Farrar Road ground.

To take advantage of this promotion all Children must be accompanied by a paying adult. As an extra incentive for kids to turn up we are planning on doing a prize draw. Every Child who hand’s in a FREE entry ticket at the game will be entered into the half time draw where they will have a chance to win one of the prizes.

The Association are looking for a sponsor for the event and anyone interested can contact myself on 07944694801 for further details. Look out for further information in the press closer to the time.

Message from the Association Chairman

I don’t really like to comment after games but last Friday nights game at Connah`s Quay is a must. I never enjoy watching a game at CQN purely because you are so far away from the game that atmosphere is non existent. Fridays game was no different apart from the one major point of the whole game, the Bangor staff in Nev and Morgs got our tactics spot on. Now in no way am I a fan of the long ball, but Hey what can you do !!

Lets get the ball up in the air and feed off the bits, as playing football on that surface was absolutely impossible. Now as far as football grounds is concerned yes Farrar rd is at the end of its days, but at least we can say our grounds man produces a playing surface as best as he can every week. That playing surface was a disgrace and an embarrassment to the league.
We go on and on about trying to improve the league and playing surface’s , well that should be reported to the league, their are better playing surfaces in the Sunday league than that place.

On a more positive note I would like to say a big thank you to the group of kids who sung their little hearts out during the game from the stands, it was very entertaining, KEEP IT UP LADS !!!

Pin Badge and Calendar

As part of the farewell to Farrar Road celebrations the Association will soon be selling a one off lapel badge as well as our 2009 calendar which will feature photo’s of some of the most important games ever played at Farrar Road. Do you have an old photo of Farrar Road or an important event which has taken place there that you would like to have included in the calendar?. If you have then please ring Ian Thomas on 07840318399 for details. We plan to sell other memorabilia over the season so look out for details in the local press soon.

BCFCSA memberships are now being collected. Renewal forms have been sent to members so please show us your support by renewing yours. Non members can join by filling out an application form online at our website www.bcfcsa.com.

We certainly have a busy term ahead of us and to be honest we could do with a lot more supporters coming on board to help with fundraising ect. Every hour of help is appreciated and I urge all supporters to consider helping a little for the good of the Club. Why not come along to one of our meetings?. They are held in the Club boardroom every first Thursday of the month, subject to change. The meetings are fun and non formal. All members are made to feel welcomed.

Finally, a big congratulations to the BCFC reserves who beat Nefin 9-1 last weekend. Mark Poole has done a great job since taking over as the Reserves manager last season. They sit proudly on top of the league and there are some very talented young players waiting in the wings for their chance with the first team. If the first team are away and you cannot travel, why not go watch the reserves at Farrar Road instead. Your support would be appreciated by the players and manager.

Keep The Faith !
